The headlamp offers a reshaped classic Sportster "eyebrow" look while the tail light comes with a new shape that features a bright, low maintenance LED element. The pull back handlebar, a critical piece of Harley's design engineering, is mounted on a curved riser that likewise incorporates an LED warning light display. In terms of powertrain, the Sportster 1200 Custom is far from a pushover, thanks to a mighty and rubber mounted 1200cc Evolution V-Twin powetrain with electronic sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI) and mated to a five-speed transmission. This is an actual 1500 mile 2012 1200 Custom Sportster shown in the classiest Marlot Color. In that time, he estimates he’s racked up well north of 500,000 miles on a wide variety of motorcycles from many different parts of the world. He retired from Harley-Davidson in 2009, but the prospect of helping Motus develop an all-American sport-tourer was just the opportunity he needed to come out of retirement and utilize his test riding expertise.
