Harley-Davidson Sportster description

Riding season is finally here and up for sale is a used 2012 Harley Davidson XL1200N Sportster Nightster. This badboy was purchased BRAND NEW at Gengras Harley in East Hartford, CT in 2013 as leftover stock. One owner. It has a clean title and only 1316 miles on the odometer! Featuring a low suspension, old-school style fork gators, bullet hole belt-guard, mid-controls, smoked out dual function rear turn signals/brake lights, side-mounted license plate, and black laced steel wheels, this blacked out bobber is certainly a force to be reckoned with on the road. The nimble performance of a sportbike matched with the lean, mean, looks of a cruiser. Initially featuring a limited edition run of a two-tone cool blue/midnight black pearl paintjob, it currently has a beautiful professionally painted custom 3.3 gal peanut tank to match the fenders. However, the original tank will also be included in the purchase and is still in perfect condition (see pics). This 5-speed torque monster has Harley's tried and true rubber-mounted XL Evolution 1200cc V-Twin engine which has been upgraded with a Stage 1 kit (supertuner included) for an extra bite of horsepower, screaming eagle air filter, and black Vance & Hines short shot exhaust pipes that sound as mean as they look. Also, included are a set of Kuryakyn Sound of Chrome Speakers for listening to your favorite music (via 3.5mm jack) while you're tearing up the pavement. This bike is also passenger friendly, featuring rear foot pegs and a sundowner seat for 2 up riding. For the lone wolves out there, the original solo seat will also be included. Additionally, as the side mounted license plate and passenger foot pegs obscure room for saddlebags, I will also include a fender tailbag that I've never used. Finally, the bike has a Harley Davidson factory key-fob security system installed to protect your investment. Weather cover also included! With newer riders in mind, Harley sadly discontinued the Nightster in 2012 overtaken by the nearly identical Iron 883 featuring a smaller, lower-output engine. This bike is up to date on all required maintenance, and has had its first 1000 mile service. During the winter season it's either been stored in Harley's warehouse or with care in my garage. Whether you're a new rider seeking the thrill of the motorcycle experience and looking for a great first bike with enough room to grow into, a bar-hopper looking for a fun weekend cruiser, or a rebel without a cause looking to make enemies at stoplights, this might just be the bike for you. If you're interested, please feel free to contact me. I will be glad to provide more info or arrange a viewing. Keep in mind that used motorcycles aren't like used cars. The engine isn't even fully broken in until 5000 miles on the odometer. In that regard, this bike is practically brand new. A brand new 2016 Sportster can run anywhere from $8000-$11,000 before taxes (see Harley Davidson's website as links are not allowed on the listing) brand new stock from factory depending on the engine size, fuel capacity, extra features, etc. That price also excludes any additional accessories and upgrades. However, this bike is has all the bells and whistles already included. Potentially saving you thousands of dollars in upgrades and accessories. Bike is sold as is with no warranty or guarantee. Accept PayPal (for deposit only) or certified bank check(title surrendered once check clears).  Buyer responsible for transportation.

Harley-Davidson Breakout Recall Caused by Fuel Tank Angle

Fri, 25 Apr 2014

An official recall announcement by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration sheds some light on the cause of a recall campaign on 2013-2014 Harley-Davidson Breakout and CVO Breakout models. We wrote about the recall last week, after campaigns were initiated in Canada and Australia to address a problem with the fuel sensors not properly reading the correct volume of fuel. We now know the problem is caused by the angle of the fuel tank.
