Harley-Davidson Sportster description

2012 Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 Custom - XL1200C, The 2012 Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 Custom XL1200C is a true Harley Sportster custom motorcycle, just a little fatter and a little more custom than the other Sportsters. The fat front tire wrapped around a 16-inch wheel gives it a cool custom look and offers nimble handling. Stylistic components including new rear lighting, chrome 5-spoke cast wheels, and an old school looking pull-back handlebar give the Sportster 1200 Custom motorcycle unique Harley-Davidson style with modern motorcycle functions. A two-up custom seat gives you just enough room to bring a passenger along on your journey. The Harley Sportster 1200 Custom, like all H-D bikes, comes ready to be modified and accessorized to fit your body and personal style. The black powder-coated Evolution 1200 cc engine is rubber-mounted and air-cooled, featuring aluminum heads and cylinders for a lighter load and electronic fuel injection. Check out the Sportster XR1200X with a fully adjustable Showa motorcycle suspension, the 2012 Sportster XL883L, and

More Evidence of a Harley-Davidson Pan America 975 Emerges

Mon, 17 Oct 2022

Earlier this year, we wrote about how signs of a Pan America 975 were mistakenly mentioned in an official Harley-Davidson web page for an accessory locking fuel cap. Up until shortly after our article went live, the page listed the fuel cap as being compatible with the RA1250 (Pan America 1250) and RA1250S (Pan America 1250 Special) as well as two unannounced models: the RA975 and RA965S, which we assumed to be Pan America models powered by the 975cc version of the Revolution Max engine, like the one equipped on the Nightster. Motorcycle.com has now obtained further evidence of the existence of middleweight versions of Harley-Davidson’s adventure-tourer, once again from Harley itself, as well as the U.S.

Who To Watch In The AMA Pro Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Series

Thu, 13 Mar 2014

The Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Series is set to kick off this weekend at Daytona International Raceway, and the competition looks set to be as close as ever. In the contest’s three-year history, the combined margin of victory stands at just over two tenths of a second. And last year’s dogfight saw ninth position take the checkered flag less than eight tenths removed from the victory. Each previous contest has developed into a full-blown drafting war, with the class’ evenly matched machinery testing the tactical acumen of its pilots as they negotiate the high banks within inches of one another.

Survey Says Harley-Davidson and BMW Motorcycles Less Reliable Than Japanese – But Owners Don’t Care

Tue, 26 Mar 2013

A new survey conducted by the Consumer Reports National Research Center finds BMW and Harley-Davidson  owners are much more likely to report major problems with their motorcycles than owners of Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha motorcycles. The survey, which will appear on the April 2013 issue of Consumer Reports, says one in three BMW owners reported experiencing a major problem with their bikes in the last four years. Harley-Davidson owners were slightly better, with one in four reporting serious issues.
