2011 Harley-Davidson Sportster Low XL883L, In 2011, Harley-Davidson, in all of their glory and wisdom substantially redesigned the XL883L. The best way to understand the effect of their changes is to drive a 2010 and then a 2011. They increased its fuel capacity from 3.3 to 4.5 gallons. The front and rear wheel sizes were reconfigured from 19 front/16 rear to 18 front/17 rear. This makes for superior dynamics in riding and a much better handling motorcycle. A beginner will find this 2011 XL883L much friendlier. A more advanced rider will enjoy its crisper responsiveness. This is a stock Sportster. Its color is Merlot Sunglo/Vivid Black. Original Viva Knievel Harley Davidsons For Sale On Ebay
Fri, 09 Aug 2013For sale on Ebay right now are two original Harley-Davidson Sportsters ridden by legendary stuntman Evel Knievel in the film “Viva Knievel!“ Click here to see the Ebay listing, which ends on Monday, August 12. The first is the “Flying Eagle” Strato-Cycle, which is one of two used in the movie. The bike is complete with full documentation including original sales invoice from Harley-Davidson in 1977, which certified (with matching VIN numbers) and specifies that it was used in the Viva Knievel movie.
Shelved Harley-Davidson Penster Tilting Trike Prototypes Revealed
Thu, 04 Aug 2011The Harley-Davidson Museum has pulled the covers off discarded prototypes of a leaning three-wheeled motorcycle developed by The Motor Company. Harley-Davidson commissioned automobile hot rodding legend John Buttera to build the original prototype (pictured above) in 1998. Codenamed the “Penster”, the Trike looks like it could have been an earlier version of the Can-Am Spyder, but it had a tilting front end similar to the Piaggio MP3.
