Harley-Davidson Sportster description

2005 Harley-Davidson Sportster XL 883L, The pink is only a sticker and will come off. - The name is 883 Low. But that by no means marks its place on the fun scale. This new lower Sportster model grabs attention and hugs the curves just like the rest of its XL family. We lowered the front and rear suspensions and gave it a sleek low solo seat to make it the easiest Sportster out there to throw a leg over. Getting the 883L off the kickstand is as easy as the low custom look is on the eyes. That custom look begins with a fresh graphic treatment. No other 883 has it. Then we pulled back the polished handlebar and stretched it wider for a riding position unlike any other. Power comes from the recently redesigned Evolution engine, rubber-mounted so your backside isn’t just lower, it’s more comfortable, too. When you’re out on the road, riding low, it’s hard to imagine how anything could be higher up on the fun scale. Then grab hold of some Genuine Motor Parts and Accessories and you’ll find one thing is certain. The 883L is never low on potential.

The Hydra-Glide name celebrates its 75th anniversary, dating back to the first hydraulic fork that was equipped to a Harley-Davidson, replacing the springer front end in 1949, while the “slash” fuel tank design, emblem, classic round air filter cover, two-toned windshield, seat, and cases, are all nods to the 1956 FLH. Want to Buy the Pope’s Harley?

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

In February, Bohnams auction house in Paris will allow both the Catholic and the Harley faithful to bid on a Harley-Davidson Dyna Super Glide owned by none other than Pope Francis, himself. Given to the Pope last year as part of the Harley-Davidson 110th anniversary celebration, the bike was unlikely to become the Popecycle because of the security required to protect the pontiff. The Pope donated the Dyna to the Roman Catholic charity Caritas Roma but not before signing the tank with “Francesco” at a special ceremony at the Vatican last November.
