1977 Harley-Davidson Sportster XLT, 1000cc, Iron Head, "Baby Dresser." The bike has about 38k original mileage. Most things work on the bike as they should and it starts, idles and goes down the road well. The rear brake does not work, the tires should be replaced and there a few leaks that should be addressed. I've ridden it about 3 miles and it seems tight. You don't see many of these out there and it is a very unique design. The forward controls, the "tank lift," exhaust and the rear shocks all appear after market. Other than that, and a little Harley "bling," the bike appears original. Might as well start the auction at the reserve, $1500.00. Blues Brothers Too Old for Harley-Davidson 110th Anniversary Celebration?
Fri, 10 May 2013Comedian Dan Aykroyd says he offered to bring his Blues Brothers act to Harley-Davidson‘s 110th Anniversary celebrations but was turned down because H-D executives said the act was too old for the company’s target demographics. Aykroyd, playing the role of Elwood J. Blues with the late John Belushi playing “Joliet” Jake Blues, posted a statement on his official Facebook page suggesting Elwood is trading in his Harley-Davidson motorcycle for a Can-Am Spyder.
