This is a NO RESERVE auction Original numbers matching frame w/ 1976 1000cc Ironhead motor. Motor is electric start only. fork seals, chain etc appear in good condition This is a mostly original 2 owner bike that has been stored in a garage since 1994 Does not run, but motor turns over freely Vin# 3A32225H6 Good example of a classic original ironhead appears to be original paint.( tank paint is bubbled and chipped).inside of the tank is clean.single disk front end.will need battery and complete tuneup along with tires and carb rebuilt before driveable. ign is missing the key and front brake lever is broken. 46,061 Motorcycles Stolen in US in 2012
Mon, 25 Nov 2013An average of 126 motorcycles were stolen in the U.S. every day in 2012, according to a report released by the the National Insurance Crime Bureau. That’s from a total of 46,061 motorcycles reported stolen that year a 1.3% improvement from the 46,667 motorcycles reported stolen in 2011.
Easy Rider 40th Anniversary
Tue, 27 Oct 2009Peter Fonda, who played Wyatt in the 1969 cult classic, Easy Rider, was in Glendale, CA on Friday to help promote the Blu-Ray release of the film which marks the 40th anniversary. The movie was scheduled to be shown at the Love Ride event that was canceled this year, instead the film screened at a local Harley-Davidson dealer. One of the film’s main objective was to expose violence and racism in the U.S. in a negative light but instead it seems that it was taken the wrong way with most, glorifying the lifestyle that was portrayed in the film.
