This bike cruises down the road with a 1200 cc Evolution engine – an engine with a true Harley-Davidson soul. The Forty-Eight also has an authentic peanut tank which first appeared on Harley-Davidson back in 1948 (its name origin) and has been a defining Sportster feature ever since. The front end of the bike looks beefy with its fat MT90 tire. The Harley Sportster Forty-Eight look is enhanced with the lowered front and rear suspension. Add a low seat height, and you have a serious looking motorcycle with an approachable riding stance. Harley-Davidson Recalls 250,000 Motorcycles for Rear Brake Light Switches
Mon, 24 Oct 2011Harley-Davidson is issuing a recall for 250,757 units from its Touring, CVO Touring and Trike line from model years 2009 – 2012. The rear brake light switch on the models in question may become degraded due to the heat from the exhaust systems. This may affect brake light function and may result in a brake fluid leak.

Mon, 28 Sep 2009Two weeks ago, I took a break from my regular duties gathering news for Motorcycle.com to fly to Germany to cover the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show for our sister site AutoGuide.com. For two hectic days, AutoGuide editor Colum Wood and I scrambled across the massive 6.2 million square foot Messe Frankfurt trade fair compound, running from press conference to press conference to get the latest on exotic sport cars, futuristic concept models and international unveilings from the automotive world. It was heaven for car lovers, but for me, it meant fighting my way through hordes of photogs, auto-journalists and car show models to get the first photos of four-wheeled goodies from MINI, Ferrari and Lotus.
2013 Harley-Davidson Models Revealed in CARB Documents
Fri, 22 Jun 2012The bulk of the 2013 Harley-Davidson model lineup has been revealed in documents released by the California Air Resources Board. While this is a fairly lengthy list of models, it may not be complete as Harley-Davidson sometimes saves a couple of new model announcements for later in the year. Most of the models revealed are returning models but there are a couple of omissions as well as several additions, including new anniversary models celebrating Harley-Davidson’s upcoming 110th anniversary.
