Jury Dismisses Suit Against Harley-Davidson Over ABS Indicator

A Sacramento Superior Court jury has dismissed a lawsuit filed against Harley-Davidson involving a 2009 accident that left one of the plaintiffs with severe brain injuries. Judy Wilson was injured in an April 11, 2009, crash after her husband, Jack, locked the rear wheel of his non-ABS equipped 2008 Harley-Davidson Road Glide. The plaintiffs contended they believed their  was equipped with ABS because the instrument panel had an ABS indicator icon and from the salesperson’s sales pitch.

In a rare move, Harley-Davidson has unveiled a base version of its Breakout months after first launching the exclusive Custom Vehicle Operations version. Presented at the 2013 Daytona Bike Week, the 2013 Harley-Davidson Breakout offers a similar low and muscular profile as the CVO version but at prices starting at $17,899 compared to the premium model’s $26,999 price point. Harley-Davidson's Production Stoppage Was Caused by Non-compliant Brake Lines

Production ramps up to meet year-end targets Back in May, Harley-Davidson announced it would temporarily halt motorcycle production due to a “regulatory compliance matter” regarding an unspecified part from a third-party supplier. Harley-Davidson initially estimated the stoppage would last two weeks but it eventually lasted 19 days before production resumed on June 6. The actual cause for the delay remained unclear some speculating the issue was related to the powertrains, as the stoppage only affected Harley-Davidson’s gas engine-powered motorcycles and not the electric LiveWires.
