Harley-Davidson Other description

2005 Harley-Davidson FLSTC/FLSTCI Heritage Softail Classic, 2005 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail - Twist the throttle of the timeless Heritage Softail Classic and you are propelled forward and back all at once. Generously studded leather bags. Massive fenders with chrome accents. Wide tires on wire-laced wheels. Detachable king-size windshield. Low two-up seat with backrest. Giant chrome headlight and passing lamps. An eyeful of all these goodies and it’s easy to see the inspiration for this bike was the early dressers. But in keeping with Harley philosophy, tradition isn’t something to be left standing still. So we set the classic hardtail styling in motion with 88 cubic inches of refined internal combustion. The Classic’s wrinkle black and chrome Twin Cam 88B, available in carb or EFI, is rigid-mounted but has two counterbalancers to make your ride from yesteryear to modern day a very smooth one. This bike is in good shape and is ready to rifde. This bike has tons of extras incuding a Screamin Eagle 6 Speed transmission and true dual pipes.

US Motorcycle Thefts Down 6% in 2011

Tue, 09 Oct 2012

Americans reported 46,667 motorcycle thefts in 2011, a 6% decrease from 49,791 stolen motorcycles in 2010, reports the National Insurance Crime Bureau. Despite the drop in reported thefts, the non-profit organization representing nearly 1100 property and casualty insurance companies says the theft rate still averages out to one motorcycle stolen every 11 minutes in the U.S. The numbers were published in the NICB’s 2011 ForeCAST Report which examined theft reports as well as recoveries.

Happy Birthday Elvis!

Fri, 08 Jan 2010

Born on January 8th, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi, Elvis Aaron Presley would have been 75 years ago today if he was still alive today.  As a tribute to “The King” of Rock and Roll, the Harley-Davidson Museum has created a special exhibit, expanding on the semi-permanent collection from Elvis that has been on display since the museum was opened in 2008. The bill of sale, insurance, and registration papers for the 1956 Harley-Davidson KH pictured above will be on display along with the motorcycle that was owned by Elvis and the Graceland Museum has loaned some rare photos for the occasion. Along with Cadillac’s, Elvis had a passion for motorcycles but especially loved his Hogs and rode Harley’s in many of his films, including Roustabout (1964), Viva Las Vegas (1964), Clambake (1967) and Stay Away Joe (1968).
