Everything about it is pure and beautifully basic. It starts with a silver powder-coated Twin Cam 88B engine, with carb or EFI. Dual counterbalancers make it feel as smooth as it looks. The Softail Standard features a raked FX fork, laced wheels, fat rear tire and a bobtail fender for the styling traditionalist. In fact, events are already happening worldwide, and starting soon in places like Goa, India and Auckland, New Zealand. In March, the party comes ashore in Florida at Harley’s Daytona Bike Week festivities and the whole shebang culminates in Milwaukee on August 29-31 with a massive blowout that includes a concert, the World’s Largest Bike Night at the H-D Museum, and more.
Donation of Photos and Memorabilia to Harley-Davidson Museum Reveal Glimpse of Early Days at Harley
Thu, 22 Mar 2012Harley-Davidson Museum today posted on its Facebook page a selection of photos it received as part of collection of images and memorabilia donated by a former Harley employee. According to the Facebook post former H-D employee Bob Jameson donated “ two scrapbooks, numerous photographs, news clippings and other company related materials” for the museum’s collection. Jameson, following in his father’s footsteps, worked for The Motor Company, and in 1960 helped develop a motorcycle suited for use in the Vietnam war.

Thu, 09 Jan 2014The Harley-Davidson Museum is opening a new exhibit featuring photographs from custom builder and artist Josh Kurpius. Opening Jan. 17, the Living Lost Photographs by Josh Kurpius art exhibit includes 30 photographs taken during a series of road trips Kurpius took with friends, all riding vintage Harleys.
