2003 Harley-Davidson XLH Sportster 1200, XLH Sportster 1200 - 100th Anniversary XLH Sportster 1200 You walk into the garage at 7:30 a.m. The Sportster 1200 awaits. Whats about to face you at the grind the next eight hours suddenly doesnt seem so overwhelming. Not when you know the time right now is yours. Sitting in the two-up seat. Feeling the 1200cc Evolution engine come to life. Letting out the clutch lever on the Buckhorn handlebar and sending wheels in motion. Grinning as the nimble frame leans in and out of turns. Watching bystanders take note. Even they cant help but stare at your ride, its classic tank decked out with Anniversary striping and 100TH cloisonné emblem. Eventually you arrive, and the commute ends. But the countdown til quitting time began long ago. * MSRP may not reflect vehicle shown. See Additional Features for specific color/option pricing.

I remember my first bicycle. A blue frame with white handlebars and a long white banana seat for comfort. I was riding a Smurf.

2010 Sportster Forty-Eight [video]

Mon, 25 Jan 2010

Watching the promo videos that Harley-Davidson puts out does get me pumped.  Harley does however really seem to reinforce the stereotype of a typical Harley rider, I’m not sure if I am cool enough but the new Sportster Forty-Eight looks great!  Harley could use some positive feedback after they announced their Q4 results… Get the Flash Player to see this player. The 2010 Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight retails for $10,499 for the black version, $10,789 for the silver or orange. Click here for more info.

35 years ago this month

IT'S 35 YEARS since Evel Knievel attempted to jump 13 London buses at Wembley Stadium. Riding a heavy, slow Harley-Davidson XR750, the American daredevil had serious reservations about the jump, admitting the take-off ramp was too short, therefore limiting the bike's speed. But even though the plucky American knew his chances of pulling off the stunt were slim, he was reluctant to disappoint the 80,000-strong Wembley crowd.
