Harley-Davidson Other description

2003 Harley-Davidson FXST/FXSTI Softail Standard, VANCE & HINES, LEPERA SOLO SEAT - 100th Anniversary FXST/FXSTI Softail Standard They dont make em any simpler than this. The Softail Standard. For many, simple is perfect. Like those who pay homage to the original hardtails by keeping their rides clean and minimal. Or those who cant help but grab a wrench and take a detour straight down custom alley. Either way, they find what they are looking for here. Traditional styling courtesy of a hidden rear suspension. Raked FX fork. Laced wheels. A rear tire beefed up to 150mm. And Anniversary colors and trim that make for a once-in-a-century look. Powering the Standard is the counterbalanced Twin Cam 88B powertrain, in carbureted or EFI version. Twist the throttle and revel in the thick, rich sound. All of life should be so simple. * MSRP may not reflect vehicle shown. See Additional Features for specific color/option pricing.

Donation of Photos and Memorabilia to Harley-Davidson Museum Reveal Glimpse of Early Days at Harley

Thu, 22 Mar 2012

Harley-Davidson Museum today posted on its Facebook page a selection of photos it received as part of collection of images and memorabilia donated by a former Harley employee. According to the Facebook post former H-D employee Bob Jameson donated “ two scrapbooks, numerous photographs, news clippings and other company related materials” for the museum’s collection. Jameson, following in his father’s footsteps, worked for The Motor Company, and in 1960 helped develop a motorcycle suited for use in the Vietnam war.

A Seattle Seahawks-Themed Motorcycle. Why? Because Football. And Charity.

Fri, 23 Aug 2013

With the return of football season upon us (that’s American football for our international readers), we thought it best to feature, what else, but a motorcycle. In this particular case, it’s a Seattle Seahawks-themed custom based on a 2005 Harley-Davidson Road King, the same year the Hawks made it to the Super Bowl. The man behind the custom, award-winning bike builder and Seattle resident, Keith Wong, was approached by Patrick ‘PT’ Town, the founder and executive director of Union Ride & Charity Rally - a charity event to raise money for several non-profits including Northwest Harvest, A.N.E.W., Helmets to Hardhats and the Awareness, Education and Prevention of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in Youth Football.

Happy Birthday Elvis!

Fri, 08 Jan 2010

Born on January 8th, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi, Elvis Aaron Presley would have been 75 years ago today if he was still alive today.  As a tribute to “The King” of Rock and Roll, the Harley-Davidson Museum has created a special exhibit, expanding on the semi-permanent collection from Elvis that has been on display since the museum was opened in 2008. The bill of sale, insurance, and registration papers for the 1956 Harley-Davidson KH pictured above will be on display along with the motorcycle that was owned by Elvis and the Graceland Museum has loaned some rare photos for the occasion. Along with Cadillac’s, Elvis had a passion for motorcycles but especially loved his Hogs and rode Harley’s in many of his films, including Roustabout (1964), Viva Las Vegas (1964), Clambake (1967) and Stay Away Joe (1968).
