The factory slammed front and rear suspensions lower the bike for a road-hugging look and feel. A full length Tank Console (designed by Willie G. Davidson), and the Silver-faced Speedometer, along with the Lightning Star Wheels, slash-cut Exhaust and billet-style Turn Signals add to the drama of this visually impressive motorcycle. The FXDWG3 features more than $8,000 in Genuine Harley-Davidson custom parts and accessories. It is accented with Streaming Flames of Hand Laid Silver Leafing on the Fuel Tank, Fenders and Headlight Fairing. Harley-Davidson Hires ex-GM Engineer Federico
Thu, 08 May 2014Harley-Davidson has hired a former General Motors engineer and executive, most recently recognized for leading the automaker’s internal investigation of its ignition switch fiasco that resulted in a recall of 2.6 million vehicles. Jim Federico retired from GM on May 5 after working in various roles with the company over nearly four decades, most recently as executive director of global vehicle integration. Federico will join Harley-Davidson on June 2 as vice president of engineering.
Harley-Davidson Reports Q4 2011 Results
Tue, 24 Jan 2012Harley-Davidson reported a 10.9% growth in motorcycle sales in the fourth quarter and a total annual growth of 5.9% for 2011. The growth resulted in a net profit of $599.1 million for Harley-Davidson. The Motor Company sold 235,188 motorcycles in 2011, up from 222,110 units sold in 2010.
Small-Displacement Class Considered for 2015 AMA Pro Racing Season
Wed, 04 Dec 2013More and more manufacturers are entering the small-displacement sportbike market and AMA Pro Racing has taken notice, opening the possibility of adding a new racing class representing the growing segment. With plans to consolidate the Daytona Sportbike and Supersport classes and the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson series signed through 2015, a spot will open up on race weekends for another racing class to support the premier Superbike Championship. The logical choice is to introduce a new small-displacement class.
