2000 Harley-Davidson XL 1200C Sportster 1200 Custom, SPORTSTER - In the opinion of many, the original 1200 Custom put together an unbeatable combination of Sportster performance and Harley-Davidson good looks. Just the chromed-out 1200 engine was enough to have riders drooling on their boots. For 1999 we’ve dialed it up to the next notch. The foot controls are forward, pushing the styling even further. The front suspension is taller. There are classic new drag bars on the Custom’s unique chrome riser. It’s a dazzling look, from the 21ä laced front wheel to the slotted disc in the rear. We could only top it with a cloisonné emblem on the tank.

The Hydra-Glide name celebrates its 75th anniversary, dating back to the first hydraulic fork that was equipped to a Harley-Davidson, replacing the springer front end in 1949, while the “slash” fuel tank design, emblem, classic round air filter cover, two-toned windshield, seat, and cases, are all nods to the 1956 FLH. He's a cabinet maker by trade but is somewhat an expert in the field of pulsejet engineering and has built a whole host of machines powered by the ever so subtle jet engine. This latest bike is dubbed a Harley-Davidson Sportjet, although it has nothing to do with Milwaukee and I'm not sure why H-D made it onto the tank...
Bonhams To Sell Garelli Grand Prix Collection At No Reserve
Wed, 28 Nov 2012Mark your calendars for February 5 and 6, 2013, as those are the dates when Bonhams — one of the world’s largest auctioneers of fine arts and antiques — will put for sale two motorcycle collections which include some incredibly rare and historic machines. The Grand Palais in Paris, France will play host to the auction, which includes the entire Garelli Grand Prix collection as its headliner. Founded in 1919, many famous Italian racers got their starts on Garelli motorcycles.
