Harley-Davidson Other description

1999 Harley-Davidson FXDWG Dyna Wide Glide, 1999 Harley Davidson Wide Glide - This Wide Glide is in good shape overall. There is minor paint chips, flaking, and some oil weeping. Bike has a few upgrades-custom seat, upgraded Works shocks, upgraded pegs, Screamin' Eagle exhaust, Screamin' Eagle High Flo air cleaner, and chrome switches. When the first custom bike purists began stripping off parts and bolting on highbars, the distinctive look was only part of the equation. The bikes felt as powerful as they looked. So it’s only fitting that this year’s Wide Glide is powered by a Big Twin built with the same idea. The Twin Cam 88. Sit in the low, stepped seat, feet on the forward controls, fists skyward on the factory ape hangers, and it’s not hard to notice the new performance. You feel like you’re right in the center of it. The rest of the bike comes on just as strong. Wide, raked fork. 21" laced wheel. Loads of chrome. It defies convention. But with a ride like this, who cares what the rest of the world thinks.

Mon, 01 Jul 2013

Motorcycle riders from around the world enthusiastically joined members of the Harley Owners Group (HOG) on June 23 and 24 to shatter last year’s record mileage total for the Harley-Davidson World Ride by collectively logging more than 10 million miles, a 28 percent increase over the 2012 total. Launched in 2008 as HOG’s Million Mile Monday, the annual event was expanded into the two-day Harley-Davidson World Ride in 2012 to give more riders worldwide an opportunity to participate. In 2012, participants logged 7,799,140 miles, but this year as riders celebrated the 110th Anniversary of Harley-Davidson Motor Company and the 30th Anniversary of HOG that culminates this Labor Day weekend in Milwaukee, they blitzed that record by more than 25 percent, tallying an official total of 10,018,231 miles.

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

AMA Pro Racing announced a new class for Flat Track racing designed to provide a new stepping stone for up-and-coming Pro-licensed racers, replacing the Pro Singles class in 2014. The new class, to be called Basic Twins, is more or less a revival of the Basic Expert Twins division that ran during the 2007 and 2008 seasons, but dropped when the Pro Singles class was introduced for 2009. The new class will give young racers a chance to showcase their skills on Twins, easing their transition to eventually enter the Grand National Expert Twins class.
