Harley-Davidson Other description
I am selling my 1987 Heritage Softail. I've had this bike for 25 years and here is a list of some of the things I've done to it. The one feature that is most unique would be the tank shift with a hand clutch that will override the foot clutch. This allows you to put both feet down when coming to a stop. it also makes it very easy to load the bike onto a trailer or ease your way through a gravel parking lot. The removable tour pack is a nother custom feature. it is very comfortable to lean on and you can pull two pins and left it right off if you wish to ride a passenger. some of the other cool things about this bike would be the Revtech 6-speed transmission. The GMA Drive pulley with the disc brake inside. Old school beehive tail light, old style 60's exposed oil filter, older style horn that only works when it wants to. It has the old 1947 style dashboard and speedometer. The old tank badges. 80 spoke wheels, Vance Hines exhaust and a bunch of chrome. The engine has a mild Andrews 27 cam and a Mikuni carburetor. As you can see, I am not a purist. I put on my bike whatever I think looks cool. This is a very cool bike not a cookie cutter and wherever you park it people will stop, walk around it and look. And it's a blast to drive. if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Thank you for looking. Jerry |

AMA Honors Zero and Scot Harden with Bessie Stringfield Award
Tue, 04 Mar 2014The American Motorcyclist Association has bestowed a special recognition award to Zero Motorcycles and its Vice President of Marketing, Hall-of-Famer Scot Harden, for their work in attracting new riders and the positive impact they’ve delivered to mainstream media. Harden (pictured above from our recent Zero FX dirt riding review) and Zero were awarded the AMA Bessie Stringfield Award which recognizes individuals who have been instrumental in bringing emerging markets to motorcycling. The award is named after 2002 AMA Hall of Fame inductee Bessie Stringfield, the first African-American woman to ride solo across the United States and a civilian motorcycle dispatch rider for the army in World War II.
Marisa Miller Takes Harley-Davidson Rider’s Edge Training [Video]
Tue, 26 Jul 2011If there’s one thing I like more than motorcycles, it’s hot supermodels, such as Victoria’s Secret Angel, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue covergirl and Harley-Davidson spokesmodel Marisa Miller. Miller has appeared in a number of promotional spots for The Motor Company in recent years, most notably for the Harley-Davidson V-Rod Muscle and to support Harley-Davidson’s U.S. Military Appreciation programs (one of Miller’s “American Bombshell” post cards is currently my computer’s desktop wallpaper).
Motus Hires Former H-D Test Rider + Video
Wed, 09 Apr 2014Bruce Edmiston was a Harley-Davidson test rider for over 20 years. In that time, he estimates he’s racked up well north of 500,000 miles on a wide variety of motorcycles from many different parts of the world. He retired from Harley-Davidson in 2009, but the prospect of helping Motus develop an all-American sport-tourer was just the opportunity he needed to come out of retirement and utilize his test riding expertise.
