I bought this bike in '90 or '91. It is a 1939 74" Flathead in a late Panhead FL frame (see frame stamp in picture). Most of the rolling chassis and tranny (4 speed suicide shift) is from the same late 50s early 60s era. It has manual timing adjust mounted next to the eight ball shifter. Front drum brake on the left side. Rear drum is hydraulic. 12v electrics which includes an LED tail/brake light. I have added fuses to provide reliability and prevent shorts. The original brass ignition switch is still used. One manual and one parts guide are included. Mechanically the bike is great and I rode often this summer. Chrome is pitted. Mufflers scratched. New paint is not a bad idea. I sprayed the pearl paint myself a couple of years after owning the bike.
The bike is sold as is. Crating and shipping assistance is available (fees extra). Choose and make arrangements with your carrier and I will deliver in the Montreal, Canada area with appropriate customs documents if required. Local pickup and delivery available too. Fri, 10 May 2013Comedian Dan Aykroyd says he offered to bring his Blues Brothers act to Harley-Davidson‘s 110th Anniversary celebrations but was turned down because H-D executives said the act was too old for the company’s target demographics. Aykroyd, playing the role of Elwood J. Blues with the late John Belushi playing “Joliet” Jake Blues, posted a statement on his official Facebook page suggesting Elwood is trading in his Harley-Davidson motorcycle for a Can-Am Spyder.

The first is the “Flying Eagle” Strato-Cycle, which is one of two used in the movie. The bike is complete with full documentation including original sales invoice from Harley-Davidson in 1977, which certified (with matching VIN numbers) and specifies that it was used in the Viva Knievel movie.
