1981 Harley-Davidson XLH 1000, YOU ARE LOOKING AT A 1981 HARLEY DAVIDSON XLH 1000 SPORTSTER THE BIKE DOES NOT HAVE A SPEEDO SO WE UNSURE OF THE EXACT MILEAGE. IT IS BLACK IN COLOR AND POWERED BY A 1000CC CARBURETED ENGINE AND 4 SPEED TRANSMISSION. THE BIKE COMES WITH 2 KEYS. THERE ARE SOME EXTRAS ON THE BIKE WHICH INCLUDE CHROME EXHAUST, SPRINGER FRONT END, HIGHWAY PEGS, DRIVER/PASSENGER PEGS, CHROME SPROCKET, TIMER COVER, FRONT/REAR TURNSIGNAL, AND LE PERA SEAT. THE BIKE HAS TOUCHUPS AND SCRATCHES ON THE TANK, SMALL IMPRESSION AND TOUCHUPS ON THE REAR FENDER, AND TANK DECALS ARE PEELING. THE CHROME AND ALUMINUM ARE IN GOOD CONDITION WITH THE EXCEPTION OF FLAKING ON THE PRIMARY AND WHEELS, TOUCHUPS ON THE BELT COVER, AND BRAKE PERCH. Bonhams To Auction Wayne Pierce Family Collection Of Motorcycles Jan. 9, 2014, In Las Vegas
Fri, 04 Oct 2013On January 9, 2014, during the fourth annual Las Vegas Sale of motorcycles at Bally’s Hotel and Casino, Bonhams, the world’s largest auction house for cars, motorcycles and memorabilia, will be auctioning off over 50 motorcycles from the extensive Wayne Pierce family museum collection, all offered at no reserve. Among the machines is a first-year Harley-Davidson Sportster believed to be the 10th XL883 produced in 1957, a 1933 Harley VLE police bike that saw actual duty on the streets of Chicago before being cast in the 1987 Kevin Costner gangster movie, “The Untouchables,” and an authentic and unrestored 1947 Harley Knucklehead wearing period aftermarket accessories. Wayne “Pappy” Pierce started his Harley-Davidson dealership in 1957, run out of a one-room tin shed in DeKalb, Illinois.

Brammo Hires Ex-Harley-Davidson Dealer Development Director
Fri, 10 Jun 2011Brammo has hired former Harley-Davidson dealer development director Jim Marcolina to develop the electric motorcycle maker’s North American dealer network. Marcolina was director of dealer development and dealer relations at Harley-Davidson after joining the Motor Company as a district sales manager. Brammo will rely on Marcolina’s experience working with Harley-Davidson’s dealer network to help establish its own fledgling network.
