Harley-Davidson Other description
This bike started as a 1978 Harley Davidson FLH and is titled as such. It was mostly stock when I purchased it roughly 5 years ago with the exception of the S&S 88" big bore kit and Super E carb. It's not my only bike so the motor has 8k-10k miles on it (The odometer was only recently fixed).
There is no paint and I did not clear over the raw steel. This means you will need to maintain it or paint it any color you like! Maintenance is pretty simple, I just keep it out of the rain and hit it with WD40 and an SOS pad if it gets some flash rust. I do ride this bike (although not in the last year) so expect some dirt and grime under it's nails but over all it's pretty clean. The motor surprises me how hard it pulls every time i ride it. It has more torque than my brand new 96". It usually starts on the first, second or third kick once you know the starting procedure. It doesn't use a key and uses an old biker trick on the magneto to kill the motor. It also does not use a battery since it has a magneto. It does have a capacitor installed to help with the headlight when you are at a stop light. Everything else works great, lights, brakes, suspension, speedo and odometer. One of my favorite parts on this bike is the aluminum JKS swingarm. These are rare as hens teeth. I searched for this swingarm for two years before I finally snatched one up on ebay. They ran $1200-$1500 new and they can attract nearly double that now. The orbital axle adjuster is what sets them apart form metmachex and the others. Here is a list of all the stuff i can think of that I have put into it: Fresh 4 speed ratchet top transmission - Just a few miles on it JKS aluminum swingarm Morris M5 Magneto BDL 3" Belt Drive Rivera Primo Pro Clutch Fab Kevin Rear Dual Caliper braket Two Tokico performance dual piston calipers Fab Kevin Brake Anchor Fab Keven Front Brake kit Single Tokico performance dual piston caliper Custom exhaust w/power cones Custom Fat Lucky seat upholstery - custom seat pan Custom front brake master cylinder Throwback MC aluminum bird deflector Throwback MC aluminum foot pegs Custom case aluminum kicker pedal Straightened kicker arm Custom fender struts New rear fender - will also throw in the short fender seen in the last pic Newer gas tanks Pingle petcock Custom Knucklehead tail light Custom licence plate bracket New LED headlight Custom headlight bracket Custom handle bars - will throw in a second set made from stainless Biltwell 1" risers Progressive rear shocks Progressive front springs New o-ring chain New aluminum sprocket New stator New rectifier New plug wires New Capacitor Horse Shoe Oil Tank What it needs: Someone to ride it more than me. haha I noticed the grips are worn and are moving around a bit. The tires I have are these really hard to find Dunlops that I love but they are older so if i was going to ride some long distances I would look into a new set. Please call or txt me if you have questions or need additional photos. 512-417-0651 This is my bike that I built for myself so I know all the details. I'm selling it because I just haven't ridden much, at least a year or more. I really need the space in my garage and the extra cash for one of my other projects. I've shipped a couple of bikes before with Uship so I can help with that if needed. Shipping costs would be at the buyers expense. I might be willing to deliver if it's within a few hours from Austin Tx. A deposit of $1000 is required within 24 hours of the end of the auction which can be PayPal but the final payment must be in cash, cashiers check or bank wire. I have the clear texas title in my possession that will go wth the bike. |
