This bike has all matching numbers- Engine, Frame, Title. Belly numbers are matching #171-11642. Motor and Trans. have been completely rebuilt. All worn parts have been replaced. Cylinders have been bored to .40 over due to a pin keeper coming loose and scoring the cylinder. Valves and seats were ground and laped. Guides were good. Frame and swing arm are powder coated. N.O.S. parts include- Muffler #65242-51B, Goodyear Tires- Front Sport Rib 3.50-19 Rear Speed Grip MT90-16, #1 dash panel, FX timer cover, All peg rubbers, Rear peg set, Air Cleaner Cover, Grips, Front Brake Switch, Seat was sold to me on e-bay as NOS but it is an early take off in like new condition. Rechromed original parts include- Bars, Lower Legs, Fender Rails, Chain Guard, Exhaust Pipe, Shifter, Shock Springs plus Upper and Lower Covers. Original Cam Cover, Primary Covers-Inner and Outter, Headlamp and Cover, Kicker Cover, Clutch and Brake Levers, Fenders including Front, Inner Rear, and Fiberglass Boattail, plus Tanks, Speedo, Wire harness, Buttons, Dimmer switch, and Regulator. Aftermarket parts are- Rims with Stainless spokes, Kick spring cover, Shifter cover, Master Cyl. Cover, Mirror, Kick Stand, Battery Cover, Ign. Switch. US Motorcycle Thefts Down 6% in 2011

Americans reported 46,667 motorcycle thefts in 2011, a 6% decrease from 49,791 stolen motorcycles in 2010, reports the National Insurance Crime Bureau. Despite the drop in reported thefts, the non-profit organization representing nearly 1100 property and casualty insurance companies says the theft rate still averages out to one motorcycle stolen every 11 minutes in the U.S. The numbers were published in the NICB’s 2011 ForeCAST Report which examined theft reports as well as recoveries.

Blues Brothers Too Old for Harley-Davidson 110th Anniversary Celebration?

Comedian Dan Aykroyd says he offered to bring his Blues Brothers act to Harley-Davidson‘s 110th Anniversary celebrations but was turned down because H-D executives said the act was too old for the company’s target demographics. Aykroyd, playing the role of Elwood J. Blues with the late John Belushi playing “Joliet” Jake Blues, posted a statement on his official Facebook page suggesting Elwood is trading in his Harley-Davidson motorcycle for a Can-Am Spyder.
