Nice Harley Sprint with original paint, complete with no missing parts- I have had this for eight years or so, and have run in 10 MotoGiro events. The bike got a fresh top end about 5000 miles back and has been a strong runner ever since. I also installed a PowerDynamo ignition/alternator last year. With this arrangement the bike idles and runs perfectly, while producing 12 volts of reliable power. This is the model with the more collectable engine and body work. Although Harley sold quite a few of these, it is rare to find one in this condition. It even has the correct Delorto Carburetor
The BAD - Bike has a motor from 1964- I am also including a 1966 engine /transmission unit, (no top end) as well as all parts to replace the original generator, coil and points. I will supply owners and shop manuals as well. If you have the bike shipped I will crate the loose parts, which will need to be shipped separately. I am selling this because my 65 year old knees are not able to kick start these old bikes- I require a deposit of $250 in my paypal account within 48 hours of the end of this auction, with full payment in 7 days. Harley-Davdison Museum Opens Tsunami Motorcycle Exhibit
Wed, 24 Oct 2012From Miyagi Prefecture in Japan to Graham Island in British Columbia, Canada, to Milwaukee, Wis., the motorcycle tossed across the Pacific Ocean by the 2011 Japanese tsunami has landed at the Harley-Davidson Museum. The 2004 Harley-Davidson Softail Night Train owned by earthquake and tsunami survivor Ikuo Yokoyama is now on display at the museum as a memorial to those affected by the March 2011 tsunami. The motorcycle will be preserved in the condition it was in when Canadian beachcomber Peter Mark found it inside a cargo box that washed up on Graham Island in May.
Terminator 2 Harley-Davidson Is Coming Home
Tue, 04 Feb 2014If you thought Arnold Schwarzenegger’s greatest role was in Terminator, then you should make your way to Milwaukee: The Harley-Davidson Museum has acquired one of the few surviving 1990 Harley-Davidson FatBoy motorcycles used in the filming of Terminator 2: Judgement Day. At the time of filming, the FatBoy was one of Harley-Davidson’s newest models, and the one now in the Museum’s permanent collection was ridden by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1991 action classic. “Terminator 2 is an iconic film and a celebrated piece of pop culture history,” said Jim Fricke, Curatorial director of the Harley-Davidson Museum.
