Harley-Davidson Other description

Good old 61 Panhead.  The paint is not original.  I ride this bike to work a couple times a week, weather permitting.  It's not totally original, the kicker cover has been replaced and the wheel hubs are ball bearing vs star hubs.  Clutch, brakes, lights and charging system all work fine.  Original 6 volt system and Linkert M74B carb.  Hand shift and foot clutch, kick start only bike.  It's not a museum piece but a great daily rider. The bike has matching numbers, clean vin numbers and clean and clear title in my name.   It's a panhead, it snorts, sweats a little oil and rattles but has never let me down.  If you need more pics or specific views shoot me an email and I'll get back to you.

Donation of Photos and Memorabilia to Harley-Davidson Museum Reveal Glimpse of Early Days at Harley

Thu, 22 Mar 2012

Harley-Davidson Museum today posted on its Facebook page a selection of photos it received as part of collection of images and memorabilia donated by a former Harley employee. According to the Facebook post former H-D employee Bob Jameson donated “ two scrapbooks, numerous photographs, news clippings and other company related materials” for the museum’s collection. Jameson, following in his father’s footsteps, worked for The Motor Company, and in 1960 helped develop a motorcycle suited for use in the Vietnam war.
