Harley-Davidson Other description

Two years ago while in Pomona, Ca., I went to an elderly woman's house to look at a 1930 Ford coupe for sale.
Under the tarp next to the car (see photos), I found and bought this Knucklehead. She said her deceased husband had bought it over 50 years ago and added the side car some time later.
The original California Plate that was on the bike was first registered in 1956 and she said it hadn't run in many years.

She had extra seats, handle bars, and leather bags etc. I had the bike serviced by very competent mechanic...it has excellent compression, starts, stops, and runs well. Does not smoke.
The mechanic put the old black handlebars, bags, and single seat back on the bike, but all other parts shown are included in the auction.

The old paint looks decent from a few feet away but old type of paint that "checks" and visable upon close examination.
There is a small dent on the oil bag and a small dent on the forward part of the right tank...likey dented when installing the side car.
The bike will leak oil if not ridden and tends to slowly drift to the right going down the road...likely the front tire needs to be balanced.

Was told there are a few items that did not go on a '46 Harley like fender tips, muffler, and other chromed items...but other than that, very original dependable bike.

See additional close up photos by clicking on Link "Photo Album Pics" below. Will gladly take any additional close-ups when requested.

I am an old Ford guy and no expert on these bikes so ask any and all questions before bidding.
No warranty of any kind...sold as is where is. Please deposit Non refundable $1,000. deposit thru Pay Pay within 24hrs of auction ending.

I will  post all questions and answers periodically throughout the auction. Thanks and good luck.

Harley-Davisdon Claims US Market Share Lead for Women, Minorities and Young Adults

Mon, 22 Apr 2013

For some time now, Harley-Davidson has been trying to fight the stereotyped image of its customer base as being predominantly older, Caucasian males. Harley-Davidson‘s Stereotypical Harley campaign became a big part of the company’s advertising efforts in 2012, featuring real Harley-Davidson owners and showcasing the large diversity of its riders. Fighting against preconceptions can be difficult but Harley-Davidson has some numbers to prove its motorcycles are popular with other demographics including young adults, women and minorities.
