This is the best handling bike that Harley has ever made: it has a sportier frame configuration (less rake) than the standard Super Glide or its mid-sized Dyna cousins (Wide Glide, Fat Bob, etc), has standard dual disc brakes up front, adjustable shocks front and rear, and is not as top-heavy as the smaller and less powerful Sportster. There’s a standard half fairing with adjustable windshield that makes for comfortable rides down the highway while retaining the bad-ass look that is lost with a big batwing fairing or an add-on windshield. The streamlined nylon expandable saddle bags were designed specifically for the T-Sport and were not produced for any other Harley. They have become so popular and so rare that when a set shows up for sale they typically go for $1000-1200 or more, which is more than 1/10th of the price of the entire motorcycle and over twice what you’d pay for brand new aftermarket bags. As a testament to their value both stylistically and in terms of practicality, one or two aftermarket companies have recently developed lookalike bags. A few words about the 100th Anniversary Edition. Harley’s gotten into the habit of releasing anniversary models every 5 years or so, but of course 2003 was The Big One. The resulting bike has distinctive stripes and nameplates, and the normally black FXDX/FXDX-T big twin engine was chromed out. Some people are fans of the blacked-out fad, but in my mind Harleys just have to have a bit of chrome on them to really “shine”. The previous owner highlighted this fact by installing blue LED lighting under the gas tank. I’ve tried to capture the resulting look in one of the photographs. The blue-on-chrome is really stunning in person.
Also, those familiar with the 100th Anniversary bikes will note that there were 2 available color schemes: silver/black, and black. This is by far the most classic, and attractive, of the two. The previous owner also installed a crash bar, H-D forward controls, a Kuryakyn Hypercharger air cleaner, Kuryakyn grips/pegs, and single-wall baffled pipes that sound great but show their bluing unlike other aftermarket pipes (like Vance & Hines) that have built-on covers/heat shields.

I bought this bike in 2010 as a consignment from my local H-D dealer; it had just less than 5,000 miles on it at the time. I had a complete service done, to include new tires, at 10,000 miles. I’ve never had a mechanical problem with this bike (it’s being sold, like every other motorcycle, without an expressed or implied warranty) and wouldn’t hesitate to ride it anywhere at a moment’s notice. The T-Sport is a joy to ride but due to my car restoration hobby and my military service (deployment to Afghanistan, etc.) I haven’t ridden it as much as I’d like, hence the still-low mileage. Given the beautiful autumn weather, I may take it out over the coming days so the mileage may turn over 12k prior to sale. Anyway, hopefully you’ll get to enjoy it more than I have.
Despite the popularity and rarity of the 2003 FXDX-T, I
think I’ve priced it reasonably and conservatively with a $8500 starting bid,
no reserve, and an $11,500 buy-it-now price. I'll need a reasonable deposit ($500 via Paypal at auction end), and payment in full by an agreed-upon, legitimate means prior to delivery. If the winning bid is $10k or more, I’ll consider options for delivery
to include splitting the cost of shipping or me riding the motorcycle to you
free of charge (depending on your location). I’m an adventurous soul
and wouldn’t mind hitting the highway on this sweet bike one last time.

Miller has appeared in a number of promotional spots for The Motor Company in recent years, most notably for the Harley-Davidson V-Rod Muscle and to support Harley-Davidson’s U.S. Military Appreciation programs (one of Miller’s “American Bombshell” post cards is currently my computer’s desktop wallpaper).
