Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali was amazed by an electric bike that he saw at one of his company's Thai dealerships the other day. It turned out that the dealer sells within the walls of his center not only Ducati motorcycles, but also Zero emissions electric bikes. However, the latter didn't sell very well, and he decided to attract buyers by building a test-drive e-bike with Ducati Hypermotard looks and some Zero FX parts and reasoning that it would be easier to send a customer to the track in a Ducati, and only then transfer to Zero.

EICMA 2012: Ducati Unveils Track-Oriented 1199 Panigale R for WSBK Homologation

Ducati has unveiled a new R version of its 1199 Panigale, providing an upgraded version of the sportbike for World Superbike homologation. Unveiled at the 2012 EICMA Show, the 2013 Ducati 1199 Panigale R is based on the S model but with lighter components, ABS standard, a higher-revving engine, an adjustable swingarm pivot and full race kit. Ducati Announces Record Sales of 44,287 Motorcycles in 2013

Ducati announced a new annual sales record of 44,287 motorcycles sold in 2013, an increase over the previous year’s total of 44,102. Revenue figures were not released, but we expect those numbers to be released with parent company Audi‘s annual report in a few weeks. “We are very proud and satisfied with our results in 2013,” says Claudio Domenicali, chief executive officer of Ducati.
