Ducati Supersport tech info
Ducati Supersport description
For sale is my beautiful cafe racer based on a Ducati 900 Superlight 1993 (Number 718). The base motorcycle is a rare 1993 Ducati Superlight, the only vintage featuring aluminum-magnesium Akront-Marvic wheels. Unfortunately the bike had been neglected for some time and it was going to be difficult to restore it to original. Besides, cafe racers based on the 900SS platform are some of the most alluring machines out there … So I decided to take a different direction. Here is a list of the restoration work and the upgrades performed in the past ten months: Bodywork:
Performance enhancements:
Gauges and electrical:
General:
In terms of major maintenance, I have all the original receipts from the previous owners showing valves were checked and belts were replaced around 9,000 miles. The bike had 13,000 miles when I replaced the gauge (See pictures) and I put another ~100 on it so it has a few thousand miles before the next big check. Oil was changed ~100 miles ago and brake oil was replaced during the recent upgrades. The brake lines, the clutch line and the master and slave cylinders were replaced and tested by certified Ducati professionals at the Ducati Service center in Medford, MA. In that occasion, the the bike was taken for a test ride and nothing wrong was found. The engine runs well and strong, the bike is extremely lightweight and agile, yet precise and firm when driven sportily. It is a pleasure to ride. To be upfront, here are four issues:
That’s pretty much all … This bike was a heartfelt project and I am proud that a motorcycle that had been neglected has now a second life as a strong performance and beautiful machine. Nevertheless, I have to face the fact that this bike is never going to be comfortable for two or for taking long trips and I must sell to buy something more suitable. Please have a close look at the pictures and let me know if you have any questions. I will include two new carb bodies and several spare parts with the bike. I would be happy to show the bike to serious buyers before purchase. Buyer is responsible for shipping, but I will assist at the time. Bike is sold as is. Good luck! Marco |

2014 WSBK – Assen Results
Mon, 28 Apr 2014Heavy rains and a fortuitous red flag were the difference in the World Superbike Championship‘s visit to The Cathedral of motorcycle racing, the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands. Aprilia‘s Sylvain Guintoli captured his second win of the season in Race 1, which was halted early by a red flag with five laps to go just as it looked like reigning WSBK champion Tom Sykes was gearing up for a final challenge. The second race was also shortened, not by a red flag but because of a rain, turning the 21-lap race into a 10-lap sprint.
