Ducati Superbike description
2002 Ducati 998S Ben Bostrom Replica #81
It is time to make room in the garage for a new bike and I told my wife I would have no more than four at any given time, so my Bostrom replica is up for sale.
Ben Bostrom replica Ducati's were made to commemorate AMA Superbike Racer, Ben Bostrom. Ben's race number with Ducati was 155, so Ducati made 155 US version and 155 UK version replica's. The US versions came with full set of carbon fiber fairings, carbon fiber lower tank panels, and Ohlins forks, shocks and steering damper. Each bike is numbered on the triple tree and this is 81 of 155 US versions. Ben signed the gas tanl of every bike and the signature was then cleared over for protection. These bikes originally sold for $25,000.
I am the second owner. Bike was bought new by the first owner on 9/21/2004 and was first titled on Feb 12, 2005. It was traded in to Cycles128 in Beverly, MA in Feb 2011. I bought the bike from them while overseas and had it shipped to me in April 2011 with 4334 miles.
Current mileage is 5080 of which about 180 were put on last weekend during. As you can calculate, I have put on 746 miles in the last 2.5 years and 180 were last week. Needless to say, I did not ride this bike very much. I have a few other bikes and worked overseas a lot, so this was displayed more than ridden.
I have done some tasteful modifications to the bike, but nothing is permanent. Current mods include:
- carbon key
guard, tank guard, swing arm guard, muffler guard, dash cover and air
runners. It came stock with the lower
tank carbon panels.
- anodized blue
and red clutch parts, blue rizoma grips and bar ends, anodized levers
- carbon termi
slip-ons
- rear turn
signals and license plate holder
- new sprocket
conversion 180 miles ago (cost $420)
- new tires 180
miles ago ($450)
- anodized blue
SSR gas cap
Bike is located is Fort Worth, Texas and title is in hand. I will accept bank funds transfer, cash, check or certified check. Bike will not be released from my possession
until funds have cleared in my bank. Paypal accepted for $500 non-refundable deposit.

2012 Ducati 1199 Panigale Engine Details Revealed.
Mon, 10 Oct 2011Today, Ducati has revealed many telling details about the all-new 1199 Panigale “SuperQuadro” engine in anticipation of the machine’s complete unveiling next month at EICMA in Milan. Needless to say, with all the hype and buildup surrounding the 1199 Panigale, much of it has centered around the completely radical and highly oversquare engine that also acts as the main stressed member of the monocoque frame. The design goals were rather ambitious — 195 hp, among others —and as such, much of what we’ve come to expect from Ducati has been thrown out the window.
What's Bayliss up to these days?
Thu, 13 Aug 2009Troy Bayliss might not be in the limelight these days, but the ex-World Superbike champ has been busy down under testing Aussie V8s for the Jack Daniel's Racing Holden team. Bayliss has made it quite clear that he wants to race V8s as the next stage of his racing career. He allegedly turned down a multi-million dollar contract from Ducati when he decided to quit WSB.
