The 140 hp of the Testastretta Evoluzione engine and the awesome braking power of Brembo monobloc calipers take the performance level of the 848EVO - Ducatis lightest ever Superbike - to the extreme. Joining the Ducati Superbike world has never been so thrilling. The 848EVO now further enhances Ducatis most impressive lightweight Superbike ever with more power from the Testastretta engine and more braking power from Brembos incredible Monobloc brake technology combining to provide an even more exciting way to enter the world of Ducati Superbikes. The 2012 Ducati Superbike 848 EVO is equipped with the super-efficient power unit exhausts. This 848EVO engine is fed by MotoGP-derived elliptical large section throttle bodies which are now increased from an equivalent diameter of 56mm to 60 mm. This magnificent motorcycle has a good compression ratio, the new camshafts provide 13mm of valve-lift compared with 11.5mm and an inlet duration increase from 253 to 257 to provide enhanced performance. This highly advanced Superbike 848EVO engine is featured vacuum die-cast crankcases, magnesium alloy covers, power and torque curves, and the lightweight clutch. The dual construction technique used for the single-sided swingarm allows the main operational components to use individual aluminium castings so as to ensure strength around the pivot points, wheel hub and suspension links, while lightweight, fabricated aluminium sections are used to complete the construction into a single, beautifully engineered component. The 848EVO swingarm is colour finished in black anodized. This Ducatis product also equipped with the horizontal twin headlamps, a signature Ducati style from the iconic 916, are modernised with the latest lighting technology, the stopwatch, and the instrument display also doubles as a control panel for the activation of the Ducati Data Analyser (DDA) system, which is available as an accessory from Ducati Performance.

This leaked sketch was found on a Ducati forum where the forum member claims he received it from the dealer that sold him his Streetfighter.  Motorcycle.com published an article last week that shows some spy shots of the new cruiser on the road along with some other information on the potential new bike from Ducati. Gilbertson gains ground at Thruxton as Rapid Solicitors 848 Challenge provides more thrilling racing. Round 3 of the Rapid Solicitors Ducati 848 Challenge again provided some exciting racing over the Bank Holiday weekend at  Thruxton with Kenny Gilbertson and Chris Northover taking a race win each. Race one With the weather threatening, Leon Morris (Buildbase/JHP Ducati) got a great start and led the field into the first turn and up through Allard.

The historic race first-ever World Superbike Championship round in Russia provided plenty of drama with several top riders crashing out of both races and a new leader emerge in the chase for the 2012 WSBK Championship. Superpole qualifying made for four different manufacturers lining up in the first row of the grid, with Carlos Checa taking pole position for Althea Ducati ahead of Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes, Aprilia‘s Eugene Laverty and BMW rider Leon Haslam. A slightly damp and unfamiliar track likely contributed to a number of crashes and collisions.
