Ducati Superbike description

Up for sale is my 2013 Ducati 1199 Panigale S in Arctic White. Bike has approximately 4500 miles and a clean title.

I've spent considerable time, money and effort in making this bike run and ride the best it can. I focused primarily on performance modifications rather than carbon fiber and anodized aluminum eye candy. That being said - I didn't exactly ignore aesthetics either.

This auction is for the bike set-up "as is" with all the modifications online. Like most ducs, these bikes need certain modifications to run well - most importantly to fueling, intake and exhaust.  I wanted to list it with the current set-up just in case someone sees the value in what it is now vs parting out.

Depending on how well it does or does not do, I may re-list the bike back in stock form.

Full Termignoni exhust with up-map and Ti silencers.

Sprint P08 air filter

Rapid Bike Race unit - tuned, ready to roll. I’ll include with cable for tuning. This thing is magic!

BSD BlipBox - clutchless downshifting. Replaces the shift switch with a load cell type system which works much better than the stock switch. Improved shifting and completely customizable via included cable. Currently standard shift pattern.

GiaMoto rearsets - Ti finish

New dash (replaced under factory warranty) - Does not show actual mileage! Protective film cover installed.

Ducabike buttons for start/stop

Brembo RCS 18/19 brake and 16 clutch masters

Brembo M4 calipers - I like the way these feels over the M50s that came with the bike. They’ve since been sold.

Brembo T-drive rotors

XRAC Race pads - I can throw in street pads too. Have some laying around.

AFAF 520 conversion +2 in rear with quick-change carrier and DID x-ring gold chain.

Throttle spacers

P-72 grips

DP race seat

Forged marchesini (R) wheels - no red stripe.

Pirelli SC2 slicks currently installed - good life left.

Evotech tail tidy - no rear turn signals set-up right now but easy to do

Stock mirrors with signals - not attached to bike

Fresh oil

All recall/ service work completed  - valve cover gaskets, gear position sensor.

All records available.

The bike is in solid mechanical condition. I bought an extended warranty and have replaced parts if they've failed - most recently the gear position sensor. Most of my riding on this bike was in canyons and at the track. Some people see this as neglecting the bike but I see it as actually riding in it's native habitat where it gets plenty of air flow and allows the engine to spool up. Conversely,  I think sitting in traffic without moving or winding out 1st/2nd gear is far more detrimental so I avoided doing so. We all know how hot these bikes can get!

The plastics have some wear - no major issues, but there are definitely a few chips and scuffs. nothing major - only what you'd expect to find on a bike that has been ridden. No cracks or missing fasteners. The bike has never been down, dropped or wrecked.

I think thats it. The bike was just in a photoshoot for Rev'it so there are few images floating around social media so thats kinda cool. I think it is hands down one of the most beautiful bikes and I'll be sad to see it go.

Bike is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early

Last - the bike will be sold with a bill of sale. Ducati Financial has title at the moment.

Is This a Ducati Multistrada 848 or a Hypermotard 848?

Fri, 18 May 2012

Spy photos have emerged of what appears to be a new liquid-cooled Ducati model As you can tell from the utilitarian-looking exhaust, it’s still a prototype, but the production version could be ready for this fall’s EICMA show. It’s not clear at this point whether this new model will be a new Hypermotard or possibly a new mid-sized Multistrada. At first glance, the front “beak” fender and hand guards evokes the existing Ducati Hypermotards, but existing Hypermotard 796 and 1100EVO are both air-cooled and this model is liquid-cooled.

Hayden and Rossi Back on Track Following Surgeries

Tue, 28 Feb 2012

Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden returned to the track to test their Ducati Desmosedici GP12 racebikes mere weeks after both undergoing surgery. Rossi had a rod removed from his right leg, a remnant from the 2010 crash that broke his tibia. Hayden meanwhile is still recovering from surgery to repair a shoulder injured in a training crash.

“Ducati Remains Ducati” Says Audi CEO

Thu, 12 Jul 2012

Audi AG Chief Executive Officer Rupert Stadler addressed Ducati‘s workforce in Bologna, Italy, for the first time to address his company’s impending acquisition of the motorcycle maker. Joined by members of Ducati‘s management including President and CEO Gabriele Del Torchio, as well as Thomas Sigi, Audi’s head of human resources, Stadler met with Ducati’s entire workforce of nearly 1000 people to discuss the future of the company. The address comes after the European Union granted its blessing to the acquisition.
