Ducati Superbike description

Baby coming, so I must sell my Limited Edition Ducati. Only the 1198 SP has the SILVER stripe on the tank. NEW Top-of-the-line Michelin tires.

This Ducati 1198 SP is the most powerful Ducati Superbike around. So much more powerful than the 1098, 996, 848, 749, etc. This is in a totally different league. If you've only been on bike with 1,000 cc's, then you have no idea how much more power this bike has than the rest of the field. Completely different.

It is in EXCELLENT condition. New tires. (Approximately only 300 miles on Michelin Pilot Power 3 tires. Receipt also shows fluids changed. Total paid $600 on receipt in photos.) Again, only approximately 300 miles have been put on since then.

I have a 100% rating on eBay. I will do my best to make this as easy as possible for you.

I have spent thousands of dollars garaging this bike. It is almost perfect, but there are a few aesthetic imperfections I must point out.

1) Close to the right mirror on the front cowl, there is a small crack in it, but does not affect the performance when driving for recreation. I have never raced on a track, so I don't know if it would affect racing. Please see pics.

2) When I had my motorcycle transported, the transporters secured the bike with straps that rubbed against the back of the bike. You can see a small WHITE discoloration close to the exhaust. It is probably the size of a nickel. Please see pics.

3) There is a small scratch on the tank. Please see pics.

Price is pretty firm, but I'm open to serious offers. (I've already been offered $9,000 too many times, which I've refused each time.) Bike is in Miami and Motorcycle is parked in doors in an air conditioned room. I will help you coordinate transport, if you wish to transport it. Or, if you're local, I will arrange a time, so you can pick it up yourself.

Bank Check and Cash are ok. NO PAYPAL.

Thank you.

Report: Ducati to Introduce Three 820cc Models at EICMA

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

Ducati will introduce three new models built around an 820cc platform at the 2012 EICMA show, reports French site Moto-Station. Moto-Station reports the three new models will be a Multistrada 820, a Hypermotard 820 and an as-yet unnamed roadster. Over the last couple of months, spy photos of a new mid-sized Ducati model has been making the rounds, with many people claiming it will be a new liquid-cooled Hypermotard while others, like our own Kevin Duke, believe the new model would be a Multistrada.

Massimo Tamburini: 1943 – 2014

Mon, 07 Apr 2014

Massimo Tamburini, creator of some of the industry’s most iconic motorcycle designs, has succumbed to lung cancer at the age of 70. Tamburini was diagnosed with the disease last November and underwent chemotherapy treatment but passed away April 6. Earning renown for designing motorcycles such as the Ducati 916 and the MV Agusta F4, Tamburini’s name will be forever linked with those two companies, as well as Cagiva and helped found Bimota (Tamburini is the “Ta” in the company’s name.) Rossi, Pedrosa Fastest In Second Sepang MotoGP Test

Fri, 28 Feb 2014

Valentino Rossi and Dani Pedrosa topped the time sheets at the conclusion of the second MotoGP test at the Sepang track in Malaysia. Both clocked identical times of 1:59.999 to become the only riders to dip under the two minute mark the entire test. The hot and humid conditions in Sepang meant times wouldn’t be faster than they were in the first test here only a few weeks prior, and indeed, Rossi and Pedrosa’s time is 0.466 second slower than the fastest lap Marc Marquez set at the last test.
