Ducati Superbike description

2007 Ducati Superbike 1098, Pure track bike, not for the street! See the list below for everything this bike has: - RACING SOUL Carbon Fiber race fairings and bodywork, Ducati Aluminum fuel tank, Full Termi race exhaust, Ducati slipper clutch, Woodcraft rearsets and clip-ons, Built Ohlins suspension, Full floating Brembos, much more! The 1098 immediately stands out for its determined and aggressive stance. Every detail insists that performance is paramount. Traditional Ducati features such as a high set tail section, under-tail exhaust, single-sided swingarm, narrow profile and a rock-solid front end all emphasize the 1098’s aerodynamics and handling capabilities. Add to this a powerful Testastretta Evoluzione engine and you have a Ducati that looks like its moving even when its standing still. The 1098 is a milestone both for Ducati and production sportbikes in general. It is the first production bike to feature Brembo Monobloc calipers, an onboard data-logging system and new smart technology for the single-sided swingarm. Oval throttle bodies and a new dashboard are innovations direct from Ducatis MotoGP effort and appear on a road-going sportbike for the first time ever with the 1098. Simply put, the 1098 has a racing soul. SATISFYING ALL THE SENSES The throaty roar of the twin under-seat exhausts are synchronized with the howl of the elliptical throttle bodies providing a fitting fanfare for the new 1098 Testastretta Evoluzione engine. The huge 104 mm bore and all-new cylinder head design unite to produce an awesome 160 horsepower and an arm-wrenching 90+ foot pounds of torque. Developed together with Ducati Corse, the 1098 is a masterpiece of incredible performance and innovation.

The future. But we can't have it

Thu, 10 Nov 2011

It's no secret that we motorcyclists are getting older. We're ageing because less people are passing their bike test each year (roughly 30,000 last year compared to 50,000 for the 10 years before the new two-part test) and so not only is the pool not growing it's not even being replenished and so the average age isn't being diluted down by yoof. When the going gets tough in any situation, you really get to see who's got their shit-sorted and who's light enough on their feet to adapt to change.

Charge Up you iPhone While You Ride

Fri, 12 Feb 2010

Motorcyclists can now enjoy total freedom on the open road confident in the knowledge that their cell phones, GPS, MP3 players and latest generation of iPhone/iTouch devices will remain fully-charged and in-service for the duration of the ride thanks to Powerlet’s plug and play systems. “Our product line was inspired by personal experience and the realization that there were no worthwhile options for clean, reliable on-board power for cell phones, stereos and GPS devices,” says Powerlet Products founder Adam Bonislawaski. “Before we came on to the scene, riders would bust out the black tape and wire strippers and cut into their bike’s fragile wiring to tie-in a cheap cigar lighter to power their devices.
