Ducati Superbike description
2006 Ducati Superbike 749 Dark, 749 DARK - YOUR FIRST DUCATI SUPERBIKE The Ducati Superbike entry-level 749 is also available in a Dark version, featuring matte black paintwork that emphasizes its compactness and assertiveness. Its 748 cc Testastretta engine supplies 108 horsepower at 10,000 rpm and 8.2 kgm of torque at 8,500 rpm with constantly smooth, linear power delivery. The L-twin Testastretta engines are very compact, making the finished motorcycles incredibly narrow and agile, much like their racing cousins. They also offer excellent torque and remarkably vigorous power delivery compared to four cylinder engines. Ducati Superbikes have incredible acceleration and provide outstanding riding thrills. In addition to the Testastretta engine and the signature trellis frame, the features of the 749 are the culmination of decades of development and research derived from racing victories: advanced electronics, state-of-the-art ergonomics and the best aerodynamics in their class. The 749 chassis set-up comprises a fully adjustable upside down Showa fork with Sachs rear shock, which is also fully adjustable, offering precision handling to meet the expectations of each and every rider. To ensure even greater on-road grip, together with a more marked racing look, even the Dark version will now use the box-sectioned aluminum rear swingarm which is a perfect replica of the one on the 999R Factory race bike, star of the 2004 World Superbike Championship.

848 Challenge Oulton Park official race report
Mon, 09 Jul 2012An emphatic and confident double win for James Folkard (Minards Pavlou Solicitors/Win43.com) this weekend cemented his position as one of the front-runners in the Ducati 848 Challenge. After some strong results at Snetterton and Misano, a first win for the man from Liverpool seemed inevitable, and this weekend at the Ducati Manchester sponsored Oulton Park round he walked away with a maximum points haul. Robbie Brown (Ducati Manchester) could only manage a third and a second despite feeling good about his chances for a victory, but he won’t be getting too worried yet as he extended his lead over closest rival Darren Fry (Hirebase Ducati Coventry) to 62.5 points.
