Ducati Superbike tech info
Ducati Superbike description
Original owner put 6500miles on it before bringing the bike to Indy Ducati to be built as a track only bike. Matt Carr of Indy Ducati built this bike to the same spec as his AMA Thunder Series race bikes. The original owner decided it was not for him after the work had been done so Indy Ducati took ownership of the bike and used it as their trackbike for 2 seasons. During that time it was maintained by Matt and ridden by his father. The bike includes quite a list of modifications, most of which are to the motor. I purchased this bike in the end of August 2012 and rode it once before the end of the season. The next season I did another 3 trackdays on it without any issues or crashes and it now has 7697miles on it. Unfortunately, having a child and purchasing a new home has kept me from getting to the track in the past 2 seasons so I feel it’s time to sell. The bike is very fast and has no trouble keeping up with any of the liter bikes I ran into on the track. The suspension is extremely well sorted for me at 5’10” and 160lbs, however the Dunlop Q2 tires on it are not quite enough to handle the power. They have enough life in them for a couple more trackdays, but I was planning on changing them out for something with more grip.
Motor: Dyno’d at 155 whp and 92 ft-lbs; weighs 396lbs (wet) * Originally built with “S” cams, but reverted back to non “S” cams to tame the power a bit. - Blueprinted motor (runs on 93 octane, but I felt it ran smoother and had a little more power on 98-104 octane race fuel) - 1036cc High Compression kit - Lightened crank and flywheel - Ceramic Bearings - Ducati Corse ratio gearbox - 54mm Termi Race Exhaust - Custom mapped ECU with immobilizer disabled Other mods: - Custom “CarrMoto” valved Showa Forks and Rear shock - Sato Racing Rearsets - Lightweight Afam sprockets and 520 chain conversion - Ferodo XRAC pads Front and Rear (2 trackdays on them) - Ducabike 5 Spring Slipper Clutch with Ferodo clutch pack (2 trackdays of use) - Annitori RL Quick Shifter (2 trackdays of use) - Full race fairings and aluminum front fairing stay - Carbon Fiber front fender - Carbon Fiber 999RS vented timing belt covers - Custom Suede seat - Accossato folding levers - Accossato quick fuel cap - Speedymoto triple clamp - Motolectric grounding kit - Shorai LFX18 Lightweight lithium battery - Custom shortened radiator to accommodate suspension geometry (no cooling fans) - Harness has been lightened to remove all unnecessary wiring - Ducati Performance aluminum rear subframe - Numerous titanium bolts throughout |

Thu, 06 Feb 2014Preparations for the 2014 MotoGP Championship are well underway, with the first pre-season test at Malaysia’s Sepang circuit complete. As the first test of the year, we shouldn’t take too much stock into the results, but they do provide a basis for later comparison. Reigning World Champion Marc Marquez was the fastest rider on all three days of the Sepang test.
