2002 Ducati Superbike on 2040-motos

Ducati Superbike description
Up for sale here is my beautiful, immaculate 2002 998 Monoposto. Previous owner added the following items: Termi slip-ons, adjustable levers, Ohlins steering damper, fender eliminator, Samco hoses, upgraded clutch slave, and a few carbon bits. He also had all bodywork painted by a highly-regarded painter in the northeast who made subtle changes to the "Ducati 998" font on the side fairings and pinstripes framing the white number plates. Aesthetics are obviously in the eye of the beholder but I find both to be much better looking than the stock look. OEM wheels are also powder-coated black.
This bike has never been down or abused in any way - - in fact the engine is the cleanest I've ever seen outside of a brand new bike. Tires are approximately 2.5y old. Last belt service was Feb 2014. Last oil change 6 months / 200 miles ago. Previous owner was an employee at Ducati Detroit and he indicated that the valves were checked (found to not need adjustment) at the time of the belt change in Feb 2014. I do not have a receipt for this, however. I've owned several other superbikes from this era and I can say without a doubt that this is the tightest, cleanest, smoothest running one that I've encountered. It currently shares a garage with a 748s, a 999s, and a 911 GTS. Very, very nice bike that a new owner will enjoy for years to come. Located in Nashville, TN. In-person inspections from serious buyers are welcome. Cash or cashier's check (requires time to clear) only, please. I have a small utility trailer and would be willing to deliver or meet buyer within 1h radius of Nashville, TN. |

WSBK: 2012 Magny-Cours Results – Championship Decided by Half a Point
Tue, 09 Oct 2012You would think carrying a 30.5 point lead into the final round of the 2012 World Superbike Championship would be a safe enough margin to win the title. Aprilia‘s Max Biaggi made it interesting, inexplicably crashing out of the first race at the finale in Magny-C0urs before scoring a fifth place finish in Race Two to give him a 0.5 point margin over Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes to win the title. The 358 to 357.5 point difference is the narrowest finish ever in WSBK.
MWR Air Filters Claim Amazing Power Improvement
Thu, 09 Jan 2014From the News That Sounds Too Good To Be True But, Boy, Do We Hope It Is Department, MWR Air Filters wants riders to know that its MWR High Efficiency Air Filters are breaking new ground in air filtration technology. While the company’s name might not be commonplace among performance oriented riders – yet – some pretty big names are using MWR filters even though the company doesn’t pay sponsorship dollars. According to MWR’s press release, “the reigning WSBK champion, Tom Sykes uses MWR Air Filters in his Kawasaki ZX10R.” Also, 17 riders at the Isle of Man TT were running with MWR filters.
Max Biaggi Testing the Ducati Desmosedici GP13 MotoGP Racer
Thu, 06 Jun 2013Max Biaggi has completed his first day of testing on Ben Spies‘ Pramac Racing Ducati Desmosedici GP13 at Italy’s Mugello circuit. No lap times were released so we don’t know how the recently retired two-time World Superbike Champion fared compared to the lap times posted by MotoGP racers at the same track at last weekend’s Italian Grand Prix. What do have are these images of Biaggi on a GP racebike for the first time since 2005 when he raced for Honda.
