Ducati Superbike description
2000 Ducati 996S Monoposto #374 This is a very low mileage Ducati 996S, under 1600 miles! This bike is a sheer treasure for any Ducati fan! This bike was found via word of mouth and comes as pictured! The bike was built around a 1997 Ducati 916 Frame and comes with a B.O.S (Bill of Sale only). The bike is worth way more than the list price, EASILY! History As far as the history, this bike was purchased by the original owner and as per their explanation, the original frame was cracked, probably tracked at some point or maybe something happened on the street, and thus the bike was totally redone around a 916 frame. The bike received most of its wear as it was moved between various "dry clima-cool storage" units a handful of times from the early 2000's until recently "being brought out". The bike was originally a one-owner US military service member purchase, hence being stored for what seems an "eternity". The fairings, mainly the RH Side, have some marks from being moved in and out of dry storage The front fender has a small crack under the sticker on the RH side of the fender (see pics). The motor is a verified 2000 Ducati 996S motor with 50mm Termignoni's, Chipped ECU (for Termis), running on single injector mod, Ohlins rear shock, and ohlins front Dampener--Bike will get vertical easily! The bike has a new battery and I had some tires put on the bike, so that I could drive it--the bike has been driven 2 miles and does not stutter, backfire, or hesitate-- "The local roadway was like a parking garage as this motocicletta pulled up to the stop light", for those 2 miles! The tank was thoroughly cleaned. The plastics are all original Ducati 996/996s Fairings. Original Marchesini 5 spoke wheels. Original Tank with carbon fiber tank cover, tank has no dents or dent repair, see pics. Headlights are original and look new! Brand New Air Filter! Bike runs, rides, and drives flawlessly--brakes are strong with no front master leakage or pressure loss. I have the original Ducati toolkit and I believe all of the tools are there, I also have the original license plate holder and the original mirrors and some of the marker lights. The bike is missing: "a rider", the underseat bracket that connects to the frame, and the bolt that secures the fuel pump to the underside of the tank, so that it is completely sealed and doesn't leak petrol. The RH grip is worn from straps meant to secure the bike during transport. Bike will come with a complete set of D-zus fasteners-- Priced to Sell---yes, it is my friends. Mystic Mac's 2014 MotoGP predictions
Thu, 06 Feb 2014There is no real off season in Moto GP. Although we complain about being starved of racing, for those at the sharp end, in little more than two months they have new bikes to assemble, team staff to put in place and sponsors to nail down that will pay for it all. This time frame is also tight for riders, as it seems more every year go straight under the surgeon’s knife after the last round and spend the short winter recuperating for the season ahead. The 2014 Moto GP championship looks like a cracker as apart from the ten full factory riders we now have at least eight non factory riders with properly competitive machinery. We also have five Brits on the grid, two with podium potential. Whatever happens though (providing you have BT Sport) you can just sit back and enjoy watching the incredible Marc Marquez do things that shouldn’t be possible. Speaking of whom, I didn’t believe a Rossi replacement would come this soon. And when I say replacement, I mean a rider that is the full package. Although in some ways quite different to Vale, he’s an equally phenomenal talent plus a very likeable character that appeals to the masses and although respectful to his rivals off track, deadly competitive in the heat of battle. Being young and good looking he’s obviously a dream for sponsors and the sport in general. Marquez has evolved in his own way but thankfully into a perfect replacement for our sport when the VR steps down.
2014 WSBK – Phillip Island Results
Sun, 23 Feb 2014When he signed with the team, Eugene Laverty said he would give all he possibly could to bring Suzuki back to the top of the podium once again. Well, it sure didn’t take the Northern Irishman long to accomplish that goal, winning the very first race of the 2014 season at Australia’s Phillip Island course. The win was Laverty’s third in a row, including the final two races of the 2013 season when he raced for Aprilia.
Around the world on a Multistrada
Tue, 07 Jun 2011Ever since Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman rode their BMW’s around the world it seems anyone with a ‘GS’ has an open ticket to ride around the world and then write about it. And fair enough, if I could afford the bike and the trip then I’d be gone as well. Obviously, BMW reaped the rewards when Ewan and Charlie showcased what their GS could really do, changing BMW’s image from solid but stuffy, to solid and cool overnight.
