Ducati Other description
I’ve always wanted oneof these, (I am a confirmed and unrepentant right side shift guy) and finallygot one. I’ve had the motorcycle about 2 yrs and found it had a fewproblems, mostly smoking from the front cylinder and I didn’t feel like carryingaround extra spark plugs as a guaranteed necessity, although it’s always goodto have them as a back up. The bike has a new veryprofessional "stock" burgundy and black paint job, new metal tankbadges and new side cover badges. The striping is all done by hand and is thecorrect off white toward ivory, per original. All the dimensions for paintlocations are as per a noted expert, bevel barbarian and well known belt bucklemaker. I was told the only problem with the paint was it looked better than thefactory paint ever did. It also won’t fade and craze like the original paintDucati pre-owned. They pre-owned to start fading as soon as you parked them in the sun! The high water price I've seen on these was about 8 mons ago when someone paid around $34,000 for an "original" bike that still had the stock air cleaners. That's something pretty much anyone who knew anything about motorcycles, took off. This motorcycle has ll the upgrades you want on a rider, better alternator, regulator and fuse block, better suspension and better ignition system. If you are looking for a really good 1 of these, here it is. Make an offer and let's talk. I got a question about this so let me make it clear. ALL of the late 750s had soft valve guides that wore out and caused smoke at relatively modest mileage. The smoke is from the prematurely worn guides because they are SOFT. If you buy a similar vintage Ducati that hasn't had the guides changed, you WILL have to pull the heads and change them. The guides on this 1 have been replaced with modern guides, the rings are not yet broken in as it has zero miles on it since the top end overhaul. It is a 1974 3 rd production series version, titled as a 1975 and has 23,197 mis on it. All thetop end work was done by Hanson Racing Technology in Chico California. Craigsaid the bottom end felt perfect. Engine: All new matching guides(they were all different before). Proper valve job, allports and manifolds matched (they weren't even close, steps at every joint!). New liners (the standardbore pistons were fine). New stainless oil filter(much finer mesh with internal magnet) and magnetic dipstick. Rockers shimmed for side play without springs (quieter). Rockers properly centered on valves (slightly off center). All top end bevel shimming exactly corrected, it’s now perfect. Cylinder liners are trimmed so the squish band is the same on bothcylinders. Custom off set keys for the cams for each cylinder. Intake stubs were welded where cracked. The rear is now slightlyrotated so the adjustment screw is not behind a frame member, which is thestock location. The Gear Gazer is useful, you can see when your oil is warmed up. Carburetors: New slides, just completely gone through by David Harris at Zenmotorcycles and all jetting has been corrected. The accelerator pumps are offline. The bikes run better without them unless you are ham fisted with thethrottle. It runs really well! Chassis: New Works Performancesprings in the front forks with Race Tech Gold Valve emulators. Thesemodifications transform the forks! They feel modern instead of harsh. Recovered seat (Philfrom Road and Race in Australia’s cover). New rebuilt dash fromBevel Rubber. Everything is new including the dash lamps. Note: it has thecorrect five light dash for this model which includes a neutral light; however noround case motor has a neutral switch! Borrani alloy wheels, steel Raedelli rims were stock. New engine sprocket, rear wheel sprocket and Regina chain. New rear wheel bearings. Koni 13†#7610-1418 rearshocks. 13†shocks are considered to improve handling and the rebuildable Konisare better than the stock Marzocchis. New tachometer cable. New gasket lining forside covers, new side cover grommets. Electrical: New 916 Corsa alternator (180 watts) and a new twowire voltage regulator. New Sachse ignition withnew Dyna coils. RIP Volker Sachse! New Battery. Cibie H4 Concave Lens headlight. No turn signals, and thewiring for the left switches is not run through the new handle bars. The leftside CEV switch is present. The right side has a replacement dual cablethrottle and no right side switches for the turn signals. The turn signalwiring is present in the headlamp shell along with the relays. Uprated blade type fuseblock. New Voxbell high tone horn(Loud!) The 2nd series had 2 horns, 3 rd series had just one. David Harris at ZenHouse integrated the new alternator and ignition system tidily into the wiringharness. Exhaust: Good Conti mufflers withno rash. There are a couple of very small dents. Exhaust headers justreplated by Walker’s Custom Chrome in Shasta Lake. The Ferrari restoration guysaround here all use Walker. Contis are not considered stock on this model andare quite desirable. Quiet, they aren’t. The motorcycle has aclear California title and is currently non-op. That may change soon. You canprobably find a less expensive GT but it won’t be as good as this one. Theabove upgrades to the suspension and electrical system are significantimprovements, not to mention the gorgeous paint. A good deal of detailed andmeticulous assembly went in to the top end. This is a very good motorcycle. Sellingit does not bring me joy. If I win the lottery, I’m keeping it! If you’re on thebevelhead list you know how to reach me. It’s my eBay ID at America on-line. Stevan 510-910-XXXX On August-06-13 at 11:01:52 PDT, seller added the following info: The cases are still sealed and although I didn't mention it, you can see it has the very cool gear gazer.

Ducati Multistrada Ready for Serious Update?
Tue, 13 Jan 2009This fabed-up image from a French magazine of what a new Ducati Multistrada might look like is more like a fable than fact. If nothing else, the Internet is great for generating entertaining rumors, speculative talk, spewing hearsay, etc, etc. With the exception of chatter on where the next lucky third-world orphan to be assimilated by Brangelina might come from, nothing seems to spread faster than talk of a venerated bike receiving a thorough update.
Lightning Electric Superbike Beats All Motorcycles At Pikes Peak
Fri, 05 Jul 2013On June 30, Lightning Electric Motorcycles made history when its rider, current motorcycle record holder Carlin Dunne, completed the famous Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in 10:00.964, beating all other motorcycles — gas or electric, 82 in total — to the 14,000-foot summit. This marks the first time in a major motorsport event an electric motorcycle has beaten its gas counterparts. In fact, Dunne’s time is still within the top 10 when you include the four-wheel competitors as well.
Leo Vince Ducati Multistrada 1200 exhaust
Thu, 15 Dec 2011Leo Vince have released this exhaust and decat kit for the Ducati Multistrada 1200. Rather than just a plain old link pipe to replace the cat, Leo Vince's decat replacement includes a silencer to cut noise. The exhaust can be fitted to the standard cat, or you could fit the stock exhaust to the Leo Vince decat, or run both.
