2012 Ducati 1199 Panigale Makes Racing Debut
Tue, 06 Mar 2012The 2012 Ducati 1199 Panigale made its worldwide racing debut this past weekend, winning a race in Spain and scoring a pole position and a pair of podium finishes in South Africa. Ducati‘s latest sportbike isn’t due to make its international racing debut until the Superstock 1000 Cup race, April 1 at Italy’s Imola circuit, but the 1199 has already found success in domestic racing. Ismael Bonilla (pictured above) of EMS Competicion scored the Panigale’s first win in the opening race of the Castellano-Manchego Championship in Spain at the Albacete circuit last weekend.
Massimo Tamburini: 1943 – 2014
Mon, 07 Apr 2014Massimo Tamburini, creator of some of the industry’s most iconic motorcycle designs, has succumbed to lung cancer at the age of 70. Tamburini was diagnosed with the disease last November and underwent chemotherapy treatment but passed away April 6. Earning renown for designing motorcycles such as the Ducati 916 and the MV Agusta F4, Tamburini’s name will be forever linked with those two companies, as well as Cagiva and helped found Bimota (Tamburini is the “Ta” in the company’s name.) Ducati Art Releases Valentino Rossi Collection
Thu, 28 Jul 2011Ducati has revealed a new art collection featuring nine-time Grand Prix World Champion and current Ducati MotoGP factory rider Valentino Rossi. Available at DucatiArt.com, the collection features five vividly coloured pieces created by Polish artist Patryk Kuleta. The five pieces are titled The Fight (pictured above), 46 Reasons, First Ride, Front Runner and Perpetually Stronger.
