This S model includes the fully adjustable Ohlins fork and rear shock, carbon fiber front fender and belt covers, and thicker aluminum vibration-dampened handle bars. The luminescent Pearl White body with grey frame was new to the model in 09. The bike starts and runs beautifully, and has the wonderful unique sound of a Ducati desmodromic V-twin. Pierobon, a company whose primary claim to fame is producing chassis components for Ducati motorcycles, wasn’t deterred when Ducati introduced the 1199 Panigale, the first Ducati which uses the engine as its main stressed member. Instead, the company saw the Panigale as an opportunity to essentially build a frame for the “frameless” motorcycle. This is the result.

Up Pikes Peak in under 10 minutes

Join Grey Tracy as he romps up the Pikes Peak hill climb in under 10 minutes on a Ducati Multistrada. Tracy finished second to Carlin Dunne, but still managed an impressive time of 9:58 as he tackled the daunting 14,000ft climb. He's quick and as a YouTube commentor pointed out: "Every time you were on the white line I cringed for a second" To which Tracy replied, "Me too!"

At Brno today Valentino Rossi had a positive session in free practice, finishing closer and within half a second of the fastest time set by Dani Pedrosa. With a best of 1:57.315 and only .457 off Pedrosa's 1:56.858 lap. But it's not just the time that is encouraging, it's the first time in a long while that Rossi has looked more like his old self on the Desmosedici. "I’m happy because we went pretty well today, and in particular, the gap to the front makes us fairly optimistic," Rossi said after free practice.
