This S model includes the fully adjustable Ohlins fork and rear shock, carbon fiber front fender and belt covers, and thicker aluminum vibration-dampened handle bars. The luminescent Pearl White body with grey frame was new to the model in 09. The bike starts and runs beautifully, and has the wonderful unique sound of a Ducati desmodromic V-twin. Tue, 04 Feb 2014The Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC) reported a modest 1.4% growth in U.S. motorcycle and scooter sales in 2013, with consumers purchasing 465,783 vehicles. The sales data represents numbers from the MIC’s member brands which include BMW, Can-Am, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, the Piaggio Group (which includes Aprilia, Moto Guzzi and Vespa), Victory, Suzuki, Triumph and Yamaha.

Those who take up the hobby to save money on gas find themselves spending a fortune on riding courses, gear and vanity signs that hang in their garage saying “Motorcycle Parking Only.” Others who get serious about the sport of motorcycle racing find themselves spending an arm and a leg on tires, replacement parts and silicon implants for the girls who hold their umbrellas for them in between heats. Yet another costly investment can be transporting your bike(s) to and from the track.
Max points haul for Morris at Assen
Tue, 17 May 2011Leon Morris (Buildbase/JHP Ducati) took both wins at Round Two of the Rapid Solicitors Ducati 848 Challenge rounding out a very challenging weekend for all the rider and teams at Assen. The changeable weather conditions made for last-minute tyre decisions and tricky racing conditions as the rain came in heavy bursts throughout the weekend, leaving a number of riders out on track on the wrong tyres. Qualifying on Saturday was typical, as the weather rendered two of the three qualifying sessions damp, leaving only the early afternoon session in which all the riders posted a fast time.
