Its fully adjustable Öhlins, 43 mm, upside-down fork with low friction TiN treatment and Öhlins rear shock offer an unparalleled Superbike suspension system. An adjustable Öhlins steering damper comes as standard equipment. The layout of the bike loads the front end appropriately for optimum handling without putting excessive weight on the riders wrists. Furthermore, the 999S strikes a balance between stability and cornering position. It features radial front brake and clutch master cylinders with integrated reservoirs. Their compact design integrates with the fairing allowing an increased steering angle at slower speeds.

Italy Recognizes Cultural Importance of Ducati Museum

Italy’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities has granted official recognition to the Ducati Museum in Bologna, Italy, for it’s cultural significance. The Museo Ducati‘s archives have been deemed to be of such cultural importance, they deserve to be part of Italy’s national archive. First opened in June 1998, the museum houses documents form Ducati‘s technical archive as well as a vast collection of engines and motorcycles.

Following the debut of the new 899 Panigale during Audi‘s presentation at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Ducati held a separate, smaller press conference with the motorcycle press at its headquarters in Bologna, Italy, to discuss the new “Supermid” sportbike and the company’s Chief Executive Officer Claudio Domenicali discussed the state of the company after a year under its new ownership. “Audi is a stakeholder who wishes to be involved in the technical development of the company and to focus its efforts on product development. Now, a year after the acquisition, it is time to take stock of the initial results and look to the future with a positive and proactive attitude,” says Domenicali.  “Ducati achieved record sales in 2011 and again in 2012 when over 44,000 motorcycles were delivered to customers.
