Up for sale is my extremely clean 2010 Ducati Monster 696. I hate to have to let this bike go, but I just purchased a Ducati 999 and need to make room in the garage. This bike has never been laid over and is as close to factory condition as you would expect for a bike with barely over 2,000 miles. I purchased the bike in May from the original owner who only put 1,700 miles on it over 5 years of ownership. Since May, I have replaced the spark plugs (factory spec NGK DCPR8E), changed the oil (Castrol Power RS Racing 4T 10W-40), and oil filter (K&N). This bike needs absolutely nothing and is ready to go! Current mileage is 2198, but odometer reads 885 as at 1313 miles the instrument panel was replaced at Pandora Motorsports in Chattanooga, TN. (Please see photo for invoice) Aftermarket upgrades include bar end mirrors, Rizoma anodized oil fill cap, and carbon fiber tank cover. Speed, danger, noise, fame, physical fitness and lots and lots of money, the key elements of any top-line race series, tend to ensure that its star competitors manage to appear cool. But the latest press picture from Yamaha – publicising the firm's link with (Yamaha shareholder) Toyota's Le Mans effort – manages to strip away every last shred of of swagger from the team's drivers by plonking them on Yamaha EC-03 electric scooters.

If you missed it, the retired three-time WSBK Champion Bayliss defeated nine-time Grand Prix Champion Valentino Rossi in the drag race competition on Ducati Diavel Carbons. Our initial post featured a video of highlights from the drag race competition shot by Italian website Motociclismo.it but it was filmed by a single camera from an awkward vantage point.

Thu, 05 Aug 2010In today’s news that really isn’t news, an interview of Ducati CEO, Gabriele del Torchio, by Bruno de Prato found on Cycle World’s website on August 3rd, reveals the CEO speaking in a matter-of-fact tone about Valentino Rossi’s status as a team member on Ducati’s MotoGP effort. In the CW article, Del Torchio states that the 2010 racing season “will not bring to Ducati any crown in the sport,” but that he looks “forward to Valentino Rossi teaming up with Nicky Hayden.” “Nicky is a wonderful person and a great rider. This year, he greatly contributed to improving our Desmosedici racer.
