EICMA 2012: Ducati Unveils Track-Oriented 1199 Panigale R for WSBK Homologation
Mon, 12 Nov 2012Ducati has unveiled a new R version of its 1199 Panigale, providing an upgraded version of the sportbike for World Superbike homologation. Unveiled at the 2012 EICMA Show, the 2013 Ducati 1199 Panigale R is based on the S model but with lighter components, ABS standard, a higher-revving engine, an adjustable swingarm pivot and full race kit. The Panigale R’s 1198cc engine receives new titanium con-rods Ducati claims shaves 1.38 pounds off the overall weight.

Wed, 11 Jun 2014Just days after Ducati officially confirmed it will introduce its new Scrambler this fall comes a spy video of the new bike undergoing some regulatory testing at Ducati’s Bologna factory. Filmed by spy image agency BMH Images, the video provides a fairly good glimpse of the Scrambler, albeit with all sorts of testing equipment and at times a large aluminum shroud (listen to it scrape the ground at the 16 and 43-second marks). WSBK: 2012 Brno Results
Mon, 23 Jul 2012Marco Melandri bit a chunk off of Max Biaggi‘s World Superbike championship points lead by taking a pair of wins at Brno. The double was the first in Melandri’s career and the first for BMW. Biaggi, who arrived in the Czech Republic with four wins and nine podium finishes in ten previous races at Brno, was held off the podium this year, shrinking his lead in the championship to 21 points from 48.
