Up for sale is my near perfect, 1,916 mile Ducati Monster. I found this bike in a garage in Arizona. The bike had sat for 15 years. I purchased the bike and started a full service. New tires, new timing belts, new fuel lines, new vacuum fuel pump (replaced the vacuum petcock with a proper fuel shutoff, but I have a near new vacuum petcock if you want it set up that way). Because the choke is not serviceable on these carbs I replaced the carb bank with an OEM set of original Mikunis. Brake fluid and lines were replaced, valves checked (but not really needed with less than 2K miles). Oil and filter change, new DID chain and a complete fork rebuild. The bike runs and looks as new. There is 1 small scratch on the paint, which you might never notice. The paint shines as new as does everything. Seat is perfect as well. I build and race Ducatis so knew I had found a gem. My sights are on an 851 so I must sell this beauty. NO issues, buy it and ride it away. It is 100% original with the exception of the Ducati performance mirrors that replaced the stock (ugly) ones, and the petcock, that I mentioned earlier. Claudio Domenicali to Replace Gabriele Del Torchio as Ducati CEO
Thu, 18 Apr 2013Current Ducati CEO, Gabriele Del Torchio, is leaving the company to take up new professional challenges. Replacing him is Ducati General Manager and Member of the Board of Directors at Ducati Motor Holding, Claudio Domenicali. Domenicali joined Ducati as a project leader in 1991.
Max Biaggi to Test Ben Spies’ Ducati Desmosedici GP13 MotoGP Racer
Wed, 05 Jun 2013Retired four-time 250cc Grand Prix Champion and two-time World Superbike Champion Max Biaggi will be returning to the track this week to ride a Ducati Desmosedici GP13 at MotoGP test at Italy’s Mugello circuit. Biaggi will be riding in place of Pramac Racing‘s Ben Spies who continues to rehab his shoulder and pectoral muscle injury. With Spies’ on-going injury problems and a star like Biaggi on tap, some might hope this change may be a more permanent arrangement but Pramac is careful to state Biaggi will only be testing the Desmosedici with Ducati test team rider Michele Pirro continuing to race in Spies’ absence.
Dramatic start to the 848 Challenge season
Tue, 10 Apr 2012The 2012 Ducati 848 Challenge got off to a dramatic start at Brands Hatch this weekend as the weather played a disruptive influence on the outcome of both races. Cold, rainy conditions prevailed on both Easter Sunday and Monday forcing the field of 33 riders to kick-off the season racing on wet tyres in greasy track conditions. With a number of riders having to start from pit lane, Race 1 got off to an eventful start with two riders falling at Paddock Hill as all the riders jostled for places and wheels touched.
