Ducati Superbike description

2008 Ducati Superbike 1098, 2008 Ducati Superbike 1098, like new, less than 2,000 miles! You read that right, less than 2,000 miles!! Brand new battery, garage kept. After market extras include Termignoni carbon fiber slipon system and concealed turn signal kit. This bike has been well cared for, recently fully serviced. Traditional Ducati features such as a high set tail section, under-tail exhaust, single-sided swingarm, narrow profile and a rock-solid front end all emphasize the 1098s aerodynamics and handling capabilities. Add to this a powerful Testastretta Evoluzione engine and you have a Ducati that looks like its moving even when its standing still. The 1098 is a milestone both for Ducati and production sportbikes in general. It is the first production bike to feature Brembo monobloc calipers, an onboard data-logging system and new smart technology for the single-sided swingarm. Oval throttle bodies and the new dashboard are innovations direct from Ducatis MotoGP effort and appear on a road-going sport bike for the first time ever with the 1098. Simply put, the 1098 has a racing soul. $11,800.00 5617567127

Capirossi Announces Retirement at Conclusion of 2011 Season

Thu, 01 Sep 2011

Loris Capirossi announced he will retire at the end of the 2011 MotoGP season, closing off a quarter century of racing including 22 years at the Grand Prix level and three World Championships. “It’s an important moment in my career, and the decision I made has come about after a lot of reflection,” says Capriossi. “I’m happy that after 25 years, of which 22 were in the world championship, I’m at a point where I can still have a smile on my lips as I part ways, even if it’s difficult to think that I won’t be riding a bike next year.” The announcement was made during a press conference at Misano for the upcoming San Marino Grand Prix, the final Italian stop of the 2011 season.

Tue, 20 Sep 2011

For sale to highest bidder: slightly used 2008 Ducati Desmosedici RR street-legal MotoGP replica. Okay, maybe “slightly used” is a bit misleading. This Ducati Desmosedici RR (one of only 1,500 produced) lost a battle with physics and currently sits in pieces at Insurance Auto Auctions’ Fremont, Calif., branch.
