Ducati Superbike description
2003 Ducati 999
I purchased the bike from a dealer in 2004. It had approx 2000 miles on it when purchased. It currently has 3,844 miles on it. There have been no modifications to this bike - it is completely stock and looks as new as the day I purchased it. The last time I rode this bike was 2006 - It has been sitting in my garage, unridden on its stand (pitbull) and covered since then. It has always been covered and protected. I usually started it about 2-3 times per year and kept it clean. However, I have not started it in approx 1 year and the bike is currently not running. I believe it needs a new battery. I can put the charger on it and the electronics work but the ignition does not. Otherwise, there may be bad gas, it will need an oil change, service, etc. Obviously since the bike has not been operated for a while it will need a tuneup and some work to get ready for the street again. The bike is being sold in a open auction here, as it. The buyer is responsible for getting the bike back up to working condition so please consider work you may have put into it before placing a bid. Cosmetically, it looks like a new bike. My intention was to hold it infinitely as a collector's item but I need to part with it for various reasons. Please no lectures on how it was stored, not started, etc.:) I know... There is no reserve on this auction. Highest bidder gets it as is. I have the title and all original keys (black and red) Buyer is responsible for shipping - you can pick it up, transport it, whatever works best for you. I can help coordinate but buyer is completely responsible for all costs, logistics, etc. Please feel free to ask me questions and thanks for looking $500 is due within 48 hours and balance is due within 7 days |

2011 Ducati Diavel Recalled for Weak Kickstands
Wed, 17 Aug 2011Ducati issued a recall for the Diavel because of weak kickstands. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the side stands on the 2011 Ducati Diavel was not manufactured with sufficient material at the pivot point. Under certain circumstances, the stand may bend and possibly break at the pivot area, causing a resting Diavel to tip over.

Fri, 25 Mar 2011Things are coming along nicely in the Speed Triple camp. I’ve finally removed my gaffa tapped heated jacket controls from the tank, and fitted a pair of Bridgestones sticky but durable BT-16’s. Last week a huge box full of R&G crash protection stuff arrived so that will be fitted at the weekend for peace of mind, just as well really because the Triumph now feels like a finely tuned scratcher thanks to a recent new discovery.
