Ducati Superbike description

Foreign bidders or no/low feedback bidders please contact me first. SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY PLEASE non payers will be reported to ebay

Up for sale:    Excellent condition Ducati 851 Superbike.  Very rare and collectible motorcycle.

This motorcycle was owned by a Ducati collector before me.  It is a gorgeous example of historical sculpture.  Always meticulously maintained and ridden regularly. It performed flawlessly on my 150 mile ride last weekend

The bike is always professionally maintained and had a full  service less than 500 miles ago including:

All fluids  oil and filter, antifreeze,  brake fluids  flushed and replaced

                            plugs

belts and valves replaced and adjusted

new adjustable fuel pressure regulator installed

                            new  master cylinder,

                            new clutch slave cylinder

all brake and clutch lines replaced with blue stainless hoses and  gold anodized fittings

                            new pirelli diablo tires

I just installed a brand new battery and battery tender leads and took some photos of the motor while i had the side fairing off.  There are NO LEAKS   (pics 18 and 19)

also has carbon fiber dash/guage cluster cover, yoke cover and carbon look tank protector.

The bike is very fast and starts right up, runs strong and handles great.  This bike is 23 years old and can keep pace with many modern bikes.  It often gets mistaken for a much newer motorcycle.

This motorcycle is NOT for beginning riders,  It is for experienced riders.

I have all the service records from my ownership and many from before me.

As far as i know, the bike was never down and never to the knowledge of the previous owner.

It does have some nicks and scratches appropriate with 23 years of regular use.  Please see the last few pictures

there is a tiny barely noticeable depression in the tank area see  (last picture)  it is smaller than a dime and has no damage to the paint, but if you look at the right angle you can see it, so i would like to point it out.  There are also some clearcoat scratches (not through the red paint) that may be from a tank bag or something strapped to the tail section

The bike came to me with mufflers that were too loud and the bike was unrideable, so i replaced them with stock Ducati mufflers, they have some small scratches and wear on them from previous owner.

There is also a small  ( 1-2")  crack in the edge left side fairing ( see picture 21)

The gas cap has some scratches and a small scratch near the cap (pic 23)  i think this is from a tankbag

I have done my best to describe this bike accurately, it is 23 years old and ridden regularly, it is very nice, but not perfect. no warranty is given or implied.

Please call or email with questions or to see the bike  prior to bidding :   Larry  917-861-8105.   Please only bid if you are serious, non payers or flakes will be reported to ebay.

No test rides without cash in hand

This bike is for sale locally and i reserve the right to end the auction at any time.

Shipping arrangements  and expense are the responsibility of the buyer, i will help how i can.  Thanks for looking and happy bidding

WSBK: 2012 Misano Results – Video

Tue, 12 Jun 2012

Max Biaggi strengthened his hold on the 2012 World Superbike Championship lead with a pair of wins at Italy’s Misano circuit. The Aprilia rider out-battled the Althea Ducati duo of Carlos Checa and Davide Giugliano to win Race One before taking a relatively easier Race Two victory. Before the races, WSBK riders lined up on the starting grid to hold a banner expressing their support for the Emilia region in northern Italy which has been suffering from earthquakes and continuing aftershocks since late May.

Price William The Duke Of Ducs And Other Motorcycles

Mon, 02 Dec 2013

The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, visited Britain’s largest motorcycle show, Motorcycle Live, at the National Exhibition Center in Birmingham. The visit saw the Duke astride numerous motorcycle models including UK icons Norton and Triumph as well as a Ducati 1199 Superleggera (one of the few men able to afford the $70,000 rarity). During his visit Prince William enjoyed a display of off-road riding – one of nine opportunities for visitors to ride at Motorcycle Live, eight of which are inside the halls of the NEC. He also met Dean Linehan, exhibitions director of MCI Exhibitions, the company that organizes the annual motorcycle exhibition.
