Ducati Sport Touring description
1998 Ducati ST2 with 47,600 miles. This is a great sport-touring bike,
with roomy saddlebags and Ducati handling. I have owned this bike since
2008 and put 30,000 great miles on--but it's time to let it go since I
just got a 2015 BMW S1000R and I am not riding this bike anymore.
Recent maintenance: * Fresh valve adjust and timing belts * Battery, Stator, Regulator-Rectifier @ 44016 miles/July 2014 - including revised-design rotor spacer for improved cooling - finned regulator from Honda Goldwing for improved cooling (bodywork modified) * Oil and filter change @ 47072 miles/Oct 2014 Lots of farkles/extras: * Slip-ons (un-labeled but most likely Fast by Ferraci)--OEM slip-ons also included * FIM Ultimap chip--generally considered the best chip for this bike * Ducati Performance gel saddle * Ducati Performance tank cover and tank bag * Bodywork modified for Dzus fasteners and Desmo Times upper fairing bracket--makes bodywork removal much easier than stock design * Evoluzione clutch slave cylinder * Barnett clutch and basket * Gerbing permanent-mount heated clothing controller * HID headlight (low-beam)--high-beam remains halogen to allow "flash-to-pass" function * Zero Gravity smoked touring windscreen, with electronics mounting shelf * Bodywork modified for Dzus fasteners and Desmo Times bracket * Waterproof, panel-mount voltmeter * Cox Racing radiator guard Available separately: * D&D slip-ons * New, never-mounted Michelin Pilot Road 4 rear tire * Lots of miscellaneous spare parts, including spare headlight Full disclosure: this bike has 47k+ miles. It is not showroom fresh--these miles do show. The clear coat on the tank is damaged due to gasoline--see photos. You can't see it with the tank cover on, but it's there. You will find scratches and rock chips in the paint, and a small crack in one lower fairing. One slip-on is slightly creased (in a spot you won't easily see) from a tie-down strap when the bike was transported on a trailer. Nevertheless, I wouldn't hesitate to hop on this bike and ride anywhere tomorrow. Note: this bike is for sale locally. In case it sells locally I will of course need to cancel the eBay listing. Also, eBay seems to think I will ship the bike--I can't figure out how to change that in the listing but I do not plan to ship the bike. You will need to pick it up in metro Detroit, MI. Buy my trailer at the same time and make your life easy :). |

2023 Ducati Streetfighter V2: 5 Things You Need To Know
Thu, 14 Dec 2023Don’t sleep on the baby Streetfighter – here are 5 important details about it When Ducati first introduced its original Streetfighter with the 1098 engine in 2009… I hated it. Other than being nice to look at, the riding characteristics were horrible. Oddly enough, when the 848 version was introduced, somehow it was a little more enjoyable to ride.
Ducati Streetfighter 848 Inspired Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG
Thu, 01 Dec 2011The partnership between Ducati and Mercedes-AMG has produced some new fruit, this time a Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG inspired by the Ducati Streetfighter 848′s “Fighter Yellow” color. It’s been over a year since Ducati and Mercedes-Benz’ performance brand AMG signed a cooperation agreement at the 2010 LA Auto Show. Back in September, the two brands came together to produce the special edition Ducati Diavel AMG at the Frankfurt Auto Show.
Wesll Quad Prototype
Mon, 09 Feb 2009A number of manufacturers have tinkered with various three-wheeled motorcycle applications over the years. Companies like Piaggio, Can-Am, Brudeli and even Harley-Davidson have produced unique trikes with ranging levels of success. The Wesll Corporation is attempting to do one better, literally, as it develops a four-wheeled mechanism that could be applied to many different kinds of bikes.
