Ducati Other description

I am selling a very attractive condition 1999 Ducati 996S Superbike. I bought the bike last year and it is by far my favorite ride but I don't have any use for it at the moment and would like a track bike next year. The bodywork on the bike is a Pierfrancesco Chili (he raced the 996 in the 90's) replica paint scheme and sticker set. The bodywork is not perfect but it fits fairly well and looks pretty unique. From what I was told, the owner of Ducati Omaha owned this bike and had this done.THE BIKE HAS NEVER BEEN DOWNED OR TIPPED OVER The bike has:Aftermarket rearsetsWater pump coverSargent seat Both a biposto and monoposto (as seen in the pic) frame and cowl/passenger seat/passenger pegs.Ohlins steering damperOhlins rear shockFull Termi CF systemCarbon fiber airbox, rear swingarm and chain-guard, front fender, and the Carbon fiber underbelly for the monoposto tailChipped ecuSingle Fuel injector mod (To smooth out the midrange)The Desmo service was also completed on the engine and everything is now within spec. Belts, oil and filter, and all fluids were also flushed and replaced. The motor started up right away and I have put about 800mis on it since. The total mileage on the bike is around 8500.I was planning on Dyno-ing the bike as well just to see what kind of power she is putting out now so I will put that up as well assuming the bike does not sell before that.Feel free to email me or give me a call/shoot me a text if you have any questions. Thanks for looking!Erictags: 996, Ducati, Superbike, Fast, Torque, Fun, 916, 998, 748.

Son joyrides his dad's Ducati 996 SPS...And crashes!

Fri, 28 Mar 2014

According to the son (who uploaded the video), his parents - including his dad who owns the 996 SPS - were away on holiday. So off he goes on his short test ride, 50 metres down the road and he's stacked it, apparently there was a small oil leak which caused him to crash. What he doesn't mention is that you can see 37 seconds in that he forgot to put the kickstand up, there's also a nice trail of kickstand-shaped evidence scratched along the road too.

That used to be a Ducati 1098

I spotted this on my tinterweb travels. It's allegedly the demonstrator bike from a Ducati dealers on the isle of Jersey, in the English channel. The only information to hand is that the bike spat the rider off and the bike hit a tree - the only one for miles - and burst into flames.

Anti clockwise Knockhill and riding in the North East with GP winners.

Wed, 06 Jun 2012

I was both nervous and excited for my first ever reverse direction track day last week at Knockhill. From rushing downhill into the left hand off camber hairpin to sweeping up onto the start/finish, nothing bears any resemblance to riding round clockwise. I actually raced my 350LC in the opposite direction in 1982 but it still took a few laps to get my head round what essentially is a brand new track for Scotland.
