I am reluctantly offering for sale one of my favorite bikes. It's time to thin the herd. I have owned this bike for almost 9 years and have ridden it a total of 12 miles. I purchased the bike at an auction and met the previous owner after winning the bid. He explained the complete restoration and installing a zero mile speedometer. I have no paperwork or receipts to back up any overhaul claims. I also do not know the mileage on the bike before the restoration. It starts, runs and stops great. I have replaced the batteries and put in fresh gas and started it occasionally over the years. It always starts right up, idles smoothly with no funny noises. Tires are like new, chrome is shiny. No dents, dings, rips, tears or fading. the exhaust has the shorty muffler and is a little loud for me. I am no expert on these Ducatis but have been told it all looks to have all the original parts except that the fenders may have been red at one time. Tue, 17 Aug 2010THIS IS Valentino Rossi's farewell letter to his Fiat Yamaha team following the announcement the flambouyant Italian is to head to Ducati MotoGP in 2011.The hand-written letter, mistakes and all, is written in almost a 'my first romance' kinda way. It's touching, if a little bizarre. Some of the letter reads:“Unfortunately even the most beautiful love stories finish, but they leave a lot of wonderful memories, like when my M1 and I kissed for the first time on the grass at Welkom, when she looked straight in my eyes and told me ‘I love you!'"Somehow, we can't see Casey Stoner gushing quite as freely when he leaves Ducati for Repsol Honda.
2011 Ducati Diavel Recalled for Weak Kickstands
Wed, 17 Aug 2011Ducati issued a recall for the Diavel because of weak kickstands. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the side stands on the 2011 Ducati Diavel was not manufactured with sufficient material at the pivot point. Under certain circumstances, the stand may bend and possibly break at the pivot area, causing a resting Diavel to tip over.
