2014 Ducati Multistrada 1200 S Touring, 2014 Ducati Multistrada 1200 S Touring
Touring meets passion
The new 1200 S Touring expresses the Multistrada philosophy to perfection. Thanks to the new Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS), the S Touring actively responds to the challenges thrown up by the terrain. Stylish panniers, heated grips and a practical centre stand make it a bike that was born to travel.
The "S" philosophy
The range-topping 'S' versions of the Multistrada 1200 feature the innovative DSS (Ducati Skyhook Suspension) active suspension system and come with different equipment depending on specific usage. There are three configurations available: S Touring, S Pikes Peak and S Granturismo.
The S Touring is ideal for those who wish to travel in comfort and style, with spacious 58-litre side panniers, centre stand and heated grips.
The S Pikes Peak is the replica of the racing bike that won the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb race, giving evidence of its amazing versatility on all terrains and confirming how the Multistrada shares the same racing DNA of all Ducati models.
The S Granturismo is the top-class tourer in the range. Derived from the Multistrada 1200 S Touring, the S Granturismo features a complete range of accessories to emphasise its long-range road touring vocation.
S Touring
Equipped with the active suspension system Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS), the S Touring is specifically designed for touring. In terms of equipment level, the focus is on comfort and functionality. Centre stand, heated grips and colour-matched 58-litre side panniers come as standard equipment.

Around the world on a Multistrada
Tue, 07 Jun 2011Ever since Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman rode their BMW’s around the world it seems anyone with a ‘GS’ has an open ticket to ride around the world and then write about it. And fair enough, if I could afford the bike and the trip then I’d be gone as well. Obviously, BMW reaped the rewards when Ewan and Charlie showcased what their GS could really do, changing BMW’s image from solid but stuffy, to solid and cool overnight.
Rain Puts a Damper on Ducati MotoGP Test
Wed, 29 Feb 2012Wet conditions limited Ducati factory riders Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden to just 18 laps each on the second of three days of MotoGP testing in Malaysia. Though there is a lot of work to be done for Ducati to be competitive, the heavy rainfall plus Hayden’s still-recovering shoulder limited track time for both riders. They used what time they did have to work on the Ducati Desmosedici GP12‘s electronics including new traction control software.
Bayliss Retires from Motorcycle Testing
Tue, 26 Jun 2012Retired World Superbike Champion Troy Bayliss announced he is retiring once again, this time from his duties as a test rider for Ducati. Bayliss, who retried from racing after winning his third WSBK title in 2008, had been working with Ducati, most notably as a test rider for the Ducati 1199 Panigale. Bayliss tweeted (@TroyBaylisstic) his intention to no longer test on June 23, just hours after beating Valentino Rossi in the finals of the Diavel drag race at World Ducati Week 2012.
